F. Scott Fitzgerald suggested “There are all kinds of love in this world but never the same love twice.” Love is a lot of things to a lot of people. It comes in all hues, shapes, sizes, and forms. It doesn’t have a definition, and you may experience it in so many different ways, that it’s impossible to foresee what kind of love you would experience until you actually experience it.
If you are looking for romantic love, it’s best to wait for the one you want than settle for one that’s available. Best to wait for the one you love than one who is around. Best to wait for the right one, because life is too short to waste on just someone. But sometimes the one you love turns out to be the one who hurts you the most, and sometimes the friend who takes you into their arms and cries when you cry, turns out to be the love you never knew you wanted or had.
Platonic love is the simplest of all types. There are no strings attached and no sexual intentions either. It’s pure, friendly and something we experience from a very young. The kind of relationships you share with siblings, close childhood friends and even a few grownup friends can fall right here.
There is also a selfless kind of love, called Agape. It is the love for humanity. It is the closest to unconditional love. The love you give without expecting anything in return reflected in all charitable acts. It is the compassionate love that makes us sympathize with, help and connect to people we don’t know. The world needs more Agape.
In love, rarely do we win, but when love is true, even if you lose, you still win just for having the tingle of loving someone more than you love yourself.
