I’ve Learned: That I can’t choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it. Every day of our lives, we are presented with difficult situations and events that will cause us to react. We might take it calmly or we may react much more strongly than we would like. How we react depends on our insecurity, anger, fear, resentment and jealousy. Emotion is what drives us but logic and intelligence is what should be steering us.
It is important to embrace calm. Create a buffer by putting time and space between what happened and your reaction to it. Go for a walk if you can. If not, send your thoughts to your happy place. Stay aware of your reactions and you will create better in your life. You are not judged by others on your trials and tribulations, but judged by how you handle them.
