I’ve learned: That we should be glad God doesn’t give us everything we ask for. God in his wisdom knows that if prayer was just asking him for what we want, and we immediately get it, we would be creating a world of chaos.
We realize more and more that prayer is the most important thing we do. We can use our time to no better advantage than to pray whenever we have an opportunity to do so, either alone or with others, while at work, while at rest, or while walking down the street. We will feel better when we have these talks with God.
Be encouraged, wait patiently on your prayers. Have trust that things will work out in the divine order of things to come. Every gift that comes from God is worth waiting for. Write down your prayer of what you want, be realistic, put it away for one year, then look back on your paper with your prayer and reflect on how things have worked out. Trust in His perfect timing.
