I think we are drawn to dogs because they are the uninhibited creatures we might be if we weren’t certain we knew better. They fight for honor at the first challenge, make love with no moral restraint, and they do not for all their marvelous instincts, appear to know about death. Being such wonderfully uncomplicated beings, they need us to do their worrying. ~~ George Bird Evans, Troubles with Bird Dogs ~
Dogs get it right, they know how to live. We’d be better off, better people, if we acted more like dogs. They never pretend to be who they aren’t. They know to dig deep and find something important, if they know it is buried deep. Dogs always run to greet loved ones when they come home. They never pass the opportunity to go for a joy ride. They take naps, stretch before rising and recognize the ecstasy of fresh air and wind in their face. They always run, romp and play daily.
Dogs thrive on attention and let people touch them. When a dog is happy, they dance around and wag their entire body. Dogs are loyal without question. A dog will never pretend to be something he is not. When someone is having a bad day, they will be silent, sit closeby and nuzzle them gently. A dog understands the importance of lying on their back in the grass on a warm day. Dogs get it right! Follow us at www.secretserendipity.com as we take our journey to wellness.
