Job hell is, unfortunately, not an unfamiliar place to many of us. Job hell can take many forms — boring or unfulfilling work, backbiting coworkers, inept — or even psychotic — supervisors, miserly employers, unreasonable workloads. These are just a few of the nightmares that most of us, at some time or another, have experienced in our noble attempts at an honest living. There are lots of reasons people stay in job hell, but most of them don’t hold up to the light of rationality. “I’ll never find another job that pays this well…” “I’ve got a family to support …” “I’m too old to get hired someplace …” “If I left this job, what would I do?” Do any of these excuses sound familiar?
God definitely does not want you in job hell. For every negative reason you have devised to keep you there, there is a positive counter reason to get you out of it. It’s never too late to (1) find meaningful employment; (2) change careers; and (3) be happy. It’s only our own beliefs that either block or open the door to our fulfillment. ~ Terry Lynn Taylor and Mary Beth Crain, Angel Courage ~
