Seek patience and passion in equal amounts. Patience alone will not build the temple. Passion alone will destroy its walls. ~ Maya Angelou ~
Patience helps us develop tolerance for life’s frustrations. It teaches us how to wait calmly and to have self-control. Knowing what really matters…what’s really important allows us to be far more patient. It’s easy to get caught up in what we want. Our wants can take over. If we get so caught up in what we don’t have or where we aren’t going in our lives, we lose our perspective. It opens a door to poor choices and wrong direction. Allowing ourselves to have good perspective goes a long way in learning patience.
Instant gratification may seem like the the most “feel good” option at the time, but psychology research actually implies the opposite. According to one recent study, waiting for things actually makes us happier in the long run.
We at www.secretserendipity.com have heard that “Everything comes to those who wait,” all we have to do is have patience.
