The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers. ~ M. Scott Peck ~
Feeling uncomfortable, doing something completely out of our comfort zone that challenges us, will give us a whole different outlook and makes us more receptive to change. When we take on something challenging, we experience an endorphin rush and often feel recharged afterwards. This awakens our creative tendencies and increases our level of accomplishments. This can all lead to real personal growth.
There is nothing wrong with being in our comfort zone. But if we step outside of that zone and become slightly uncomfortable, can push us to achieve goals that we never thought we could. We cannot evolve in our lives and careers if we only stick to routine. A little anxiety can help us perform at our peak.
There is no learning without making some mistakes. If we want to keep on learning, we must keep on risking failure. When we take chances, we have an easier time dealing with new and unexpected changes. When we challenge ourselves to things we wouldn’t normally do, we experience uncertainty in a manageable environment. Learning to live outside our comfort zone when we choose to can make it easier for us to accept life changes that force us out of it.
We can’t live outside of our comfort zone all the time. We need to come back to our safe zone to process our experiences. It’s important to return to a comfortable state to just relax and appreciate all we have.
