Love is the act of caring about someone without wanting or expecting anything in return. Love eliminates the sense of separation and loneliness. Love is complete acceptance – We don’t see anything about the person to be insufficient or not good enough. Love is completely unconditional – Our love can’t be affected or lost based on words and action. Love is completely selfless – Love doesn’t need or want anything in return.
There are several ways to bring loving feelings into your life. Notice the incredible beauty that surrounds us in nature. Appreciate fresh water, clean air, hug and kisses, and smelling the beautiful flowers. Accept that we never really know what is going to happen next, and be ready to embrace it. Understand that there are many paths to happiness, not necessarily the one you had in mind. Appreciating all the little things that make you smile. We have freedom. Know the difference between being alive and living. We have freedom to choose. Take joy in the moon and stars at night, and the sun, rain, sunrise, and sunset during the day. Revel in quiet time and a good night’s sleep. Appreciate that we are not alone, we have wonderful friends and family. Laugh often and loud.
Part of loving life and being happy is to not be ruled by fear. Do things outside of your comfort zone. Take walks, sing, enjoy the day. Try to help others when you have the opportunity. Make an effort to smile at five people you interact with every day. Be grateful for all that you have. Loving life is one of the most important changes we can make to have a happier and healthier life.
“There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.” ~ John Lennon ~
