Surround yourself with optimism – whether it be the people who support your choices, affirmations you’ve written down and posted in your house, or the self-talk that is constantly going on in your head – keep it positive. If you wouldn’t want to hear such negativity from somebody else, don’t allow the voice in your head to bad mouth you either.
Life is constantly changing, constantly evolving and constantly renewing itself. And since life is what flows through all of us, we ourselves need to constantly embrace change, and we need to constantly renew ourselves in order for life to flow through us, and in order for us to feel fully alive once more.
Regardless of what’s happened, there are plenty of ways to find a little joy. Go for a walk, call your mother, or a good friend, sit in the sunshine or share a meal with a friend. And above all, take life one day at a time.
You’ve no doubt heard the saying, “Today is the first day of the rest of your life.” But have you ever really thought about what this means? We can make each new day a fresh opportunity, a chance for new choices and new goals. With the beginning of each new day you have the opportunity to start with a clean slate. So, from now on, when you wake up each morning, welcome the new day. Think about how you can get the most out of each minute. Set a game plan, and then live every moment of the day pursuing your own personal excellence. It’s a choice you will never regret. ~Don Essig, 148 Motivational Minutes ~
