Acting selfish can be like any other bad habit—hard to quit and often a cycle that you don’t even want to be in. Checking your poor attitude and using sheer will to change is often easier, and more worthwhile, than you think.
A selfish person ends up losing friends and loved ones because no matter how charming or interesting a selfish person may be, a relationship with a selfish person is hard to maintain. There is no perfect way, and there are also reasons why it might not be too bad to exercise selfishness once in a while. Sometimes, you must do what’s best for you and your life, not what’s best for everybody else. But is that selfishness or survival?
