What we can do every day is try to approach every situation with the most positive outlook and intentions, assuming the best of every person we come into contact with. It turns out that when you do that, the rest tends to fall into place. Sometimes it is easy, and then sometimes it is really hard to do the right thing. But when you don’t do the right thing you don’t feel good about yourself.
We do the right thing because we know we can make a difference, and because we know we can help.
We do the right thing not for credit or praise.
We do the right thing not for a reward.
We do the right thing because it is what we expect of ourselves.
The reward we receive is really one of self-actualization — of achieving a greater good by helping others.
