We are beginning the phase of the Strawberry Moon in June. One reason is because the relatively short season for harvesting strawberries comes each year during the month of June. The Algonquin tribes of Native Americans named it the Strawberry Moon, as it appears at the time of year when they would harvest their strawberries. In other parts of the world, it is also known as the Honey Moon, Hot Moon and Full Rose Moon.
This Magnificent Moon brings much-needed optimism. Don’t be so sad, happiness is impossible if we continually depend on other people in order to feel good. Frustration happens when we expect too much of others, or expect too specifically what we feel they ought to be, say, give or do. If I expect another person to react in a certain way to a given situation, and he or she fails to meet my expectation, have I the right to be disappointed or angry? Starting today, accept people as they are. Not everyone will be able to live up to our expectations so we should stop getting upset. Be optimistic and believe that they are doing the best that they can. It doesn’t matter how good you are to people, there will always be that one negative person. Smile, ignore them if you can’t help them, and carry on. Let’s all be kinder than necessary, for everyone is fighting some kind of a battle, as we are.
