Never underestimate the power of a scented candle. In addition to lighting up a room, scented candles bring pleasant aromas into your home. Some research suggests that candles scented with real essential oils do more than improve the atmosphere; they can actually affect your attitude. By triggering parts of your brain that signal your body to relax, scented aromatherapy candles can boost your mood and reduce your stress levels.
A study by Dr. Gary E. Schwartz, a professor of psychology and psychiatry at Yale University, suggests that some scents released by aromatherapy candles can help temporarily lower blood pressure. When stressed out volunteers were exposed to certain scented candles, their blood pressure dropped an average of three to five points, a reduction comparable to an extended meditation session. The smell of spiced apple was found to be particularly effective. When a scented candle triggers your blood pressure to drop, you feel more relaxed and are likely to be in a better mood.

Our Favorite Beeswax Scented and Unscented Candles
Coffee Cup and Scented Candle Warmers
We love the amazing scent of a burning candle. The many different fragrances from candles radiate a subtle aroma can purify our home ambience. Candles make for an inviting atmosphere. During the winter holiday months, they provide warmth and a festive atmosphere. When you’re stressed, there’s nothing more relaxing than lighting some candles and drawing a hot bath at home. Whether you’re enjoying an evening yoga class or a romantic meal with your significant other, scented candles help set the mood.
It’s always fun to try something different. You can enjoy the aroma of a scented candle without a flame if you put it on a coffee cup warmer and let it melt. Make sure to always use candles in glass containers. Plastic containers will melt and ruin the warmer. This will not work with tealights or smaller candles, nor really large ones. It usually takes about 15-30 minutes before the candle is melted enough to start releasing the scent. When you melt a candle on a warmer, the aroma is much stronger than if you were to burn it.
Scented candles make great gifts, they dress up any room and they add an extra touch of luxury to a hot bath. We love beeswax candles as they are the most durable and long lasting candles you can own! They burn brighter, longer, & cleaner than any other type of candle. Beeswax candles come either scented or their natural scent. Both are great. Enjoying the natural scent of the beeswax candles is perfect if you are looking for the aura cleansing experience.
When you burn your favorite candle, their scents are likely to trigger memories locked deep in your mind. Sometimes we like to remember the good times with a candle. There is also the opportunity of creating new memories by trying out new scents! This is especially true if you have the right scented candle for your particular circumstance at any given time. Not only do they look pretty, smell nice, can mask scents, enhance scents, play pretend and are often on sale and not expensive at all, there isn’t really much of a reason NOT to like candles!
We love enjoying the scent of one of our favorite burning candles at the end of a difficult day. Join us at www.secretserendipity.com as we take our journey to wellness.
