Honor and trust your feelings. They tell the truth about how you really experience the world. The people with whom you choose to associate influence the direction of your life. It is never too late to become the person you were meant to be. Know the difference between instinct and habit. Trust your instincts, question your habits.
Our feelings do change. Our highs don’t last and our lows make us sad. Our feelings enable us to engage our mind and to make wise decisions on what needs to be done. We know what is going on with us, but fear may cause us to second guess ourselves. Every experience contributes to the people we are today. Build the kind of trust in yourself that you would want in a good friend. Make a decision based on the feelings and the facts that you have and believe in, and then if it doesn’t work out, life is full of second chances.
Unpleasant feelings show us that we are thinking something negative and believing it to be true. The worse we feel, the more distorted our thoughts become. Your mind can only think of one thought at a time. Try thinking positive when a negative thought pops up, and see the positive side of whatever situation you may be in at that moment.
To become more fully conscious of your thinking processes, redirect your attention out of thought and into the here and now. Give the present moment your absolute undivided attention. Think positive thoughts, trust in yourself, and always make a conscious decision to do what is right.
Trust because you are willing to accept the risk, not because it is safe or certain. To change our lives, we must first change our minds. Confidence breeds hope and hope breeds peace.
