Before the world can move beyond classism, sexism, territorialism, or racism, the church will have to move beyond religionism. When we allow ourselves to operate in the spirit God, we know that there is no such thing as “I’m better than you,” and we end up focusing on our similarities rather than our differences. When we let go and let God handle things, we will realize that in spite of what makes us different we are all created in the image of God.
So when we create a division between ourselves and others based on race, ethnicity, or religion, we must remember that these divisions are not created by God but are created in the minds and thoughts of people. When we submit to the spirit of God, it moves around our classism, knocks down our sexism, climbs over our racism, and pushes aside our religionism. ~ Rev. Bernice A.
