I’ve Learned: That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand. We are social beings, we all need to have that sense of connection to another. Touching another person, holding their hand, sharing ideas and feelings, can make us feel more secure and less anxious. It can make us feel grounded and safe and not so all alone.
It is hard to feel down and depressed when we feel the confidence of being connected to others. Hand holding and the physical touch can make a person feel more optimistic and positive about life. Don’t let yourself get too busy that you starve yourself of a touch, a hug, or a talk with someone who understands you. Touch others and let others touch you.
