It is important to know that even though you may be sad right now, you still have whole lots of people and things that you enjoy. Start by listening to your favorite music. Don’t listen to sad music, try listening to energetic songs or a song that inspires you or one that reminds you of happier times. Get out of the house. The fresh air will make you feel better. Go somewhere with a friend, a family member, or even by yourself. See a movie, go shopping, or find a place for a picnic lunch. Staying inside is like trapping yourself inside your depression.
Sometimes the sadness stays inside your head if you try to force yourself to be happy. Try to let the tears out at the most appropriate time, probably when you are alone. This might help you feel more relieved of your sad feelings. Then go for a walk. This will make your body release endorphins and adrenaline through your body which will make you feel better physically and emotionally.
