Acceptance means that you can find the serenity within to let go of the past with its mistakes and regrets, move into the future with a new perspective, and appreciate the opportunity to take a second chance.
Acceptance means you’ll find security again when difficult times come into your life, and comfort to relieve any pain. You’ll find new dreams, fresh hopes, and forgiveness of the heart.
Acceptance does not mean that you will always be perfect. It simply means that you’ll always overcome imperfection.
Acceptance is the road to peace – letting go of the worst, holding on to the best, and finding the hope inside that continues throughout life.
Acceptance is the heart’s best defense, love’s greatest asset, and the easiest way to keep your thoughts positive.

BE TRUE TO YOURSELF
The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself. ~~ Friedrich Nietzsche ~
Just as you cannot love anyone else until you love yourself, you cannot be true to anyone else until you are true to yourself. Have the courage to accept yourself as you really are, not as someone else thinks you should be. Do not pretend to be someone else for the sake of gaining acceptance. When you act in a way that is not genuine or the real you, you will not be happy with yourself and will end up confused. Self-respect comes from being true to who you really are and from acting in accordance with your fundamental nature.
Let your individuality shine through. Don’t follow those that you do not agree with because they are trying to bully you into following. When you respect yourself, others will respect you. They will sense that you are strong and capable of standing up for yourself and your beliefs. Those who are the most successful in life have dared to creatively express themselves. Be the best you can be, respect yourself and each other. Happiness is just around the corner.

EVERYTHING IS PERFECT
I believe natural beauty has a necessary place in the spiritual development of any individual or any society. I believe that whenever we destroy beauty, or whenever we substitute something man made and artificial for a natural feature of the earth, we have retarded some part of man’s spiritual growth. ~ Rachel Carson
Those of us who see natural beauty in people, nature and the outdoors and just about everything, will undoubtedly have a greater life satisfaction and well being. There is such awe in nature and natural beauty. There is so very much beauty all around us to see, touch, and hear. Nature is so miraculous because it is always changing. If we take the time to enjoy nature more, then we are taking the time to really live more.
Appreciating natural beauty helps us feel comfortable in our own skin, We have our own quiet peace and strength. Nature is a stress reliever. The high green tops along with the open spaces make for a more calming breath of air that our body needs. Breathing clean, fresh air, hearing the serene sounds of nature, are things that everyone loves. Nature is healthy. Healthy is beautiful.
In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on What You Ought To Be
All this is simply to say that all life is interrelated. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality; tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. As long as there is poverty in this world, no man can be totally rich even if he has a billion dollars. As long as diseases are rampant and millions of people cannot expect to live more than twenty or thirty years, no man can be totally healthy, even if he just got a clean bill of health from the finest clinic in America.
Strangely enough, I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. You can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be. This is the way the world is made.
~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
We are just small creatures, living in a vast universe, on a tiny planet. In the long run, everything we do will probably be forgotten. This should not make you sad. It means that all our problems are just an illusion. Many years from now, no one will remember what you did or didn’t do.
Try thinking like animals do. A little bird doesn’t mope around because it isn’t an eagle or because another bird beat it to a tasty treat. Animals live in the present moment and they show love unconditionally. We all need to be more like the animals around us.
We at www.secretserendipity.com believe that what matters is the present moment and enjoying every second of life that we’re blessed with, for life is way too short.
WINTER SOLSTICE
The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year. It is the day that the earth is tilted away from the sun, and receives the least amount of sunlight, on that day, and in this year. The Winter Solstice officially arrives at 5:44 a.m., Eastern time, on December 21, well before the sun rises. The term “solstice” derives from the Latin word “solstitium,” meaning “Sun standing still.” On this day, the Sun seems to stand still at the Tropic of Capricorn and then reverses its direction as it reaches its southernmost position as seen from the Earth. The December 21 solstice will occur at exactly the same instance for all of us everywhere on Earth.
Solstice celebrations are ancient traditions that span across various cultures and religions. The ancient Romans devoted a week of merriment and partying to mark this change in seasons, while in Ireland, a giant tomb called Newgrange was constructed in homage to the event. The Cathedral of St. John, in New York City, hosts a three-day event in order to celebrate the spirit of the holidays, to celebrate the Winter Solstice. Pagan religions celebrated the Winter Solstice, the singular moment when the Sun turned northward in the sky, as a sign that spring and warmth were coming. The pagan Scandinavian and Germanic people celebrated a twelve-day, mid-winter holiday known as Yule. The word is part of the longer word “yuletide,” which is a day of worship, and is seen as the day that nature reawakens.
One of the most elaborate celebrations in the UK occurs at Stonehenge, with crowds gathering to watch the sunrise on the morning of the Winter Solstice. The crowd often dresses for the occasion, as they gather at the historic site.
Throughout history, the Winter Solstice was the time when cattle was slaughtered so that the animals would not have to be fed during the winter, and the majority of wine and beer was finally fermented. Winter Solstice customs led to the Christmas tree becoming a major symbol. The Druids used evergreen trees to symbolize everlasting life during their Winter Solstice rituals.
Each year, there are summer and winter solstices and spring and autumn equinoxes that mark the transition between the seasons. The shadow you cast at noon on the Winter Solstice is the longest shadow you’ll cast all year. The Winter Solstice is a time to celebrate the fact that the cycle of the world turns. It is a time when change and hope is renewed.
“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire. It is the time for home.” ~ Edith Sitwell ~
We at www.secretserendipity.com wish you warmest thoughts and best wishes for a wonderful Winter Solstice to ring in this holiday season. Peace and happiness to all.
AND THEN SOMETIMES
Sometimes, things just don’t work out the way we planned. But when you look back at your life, you can see how everything has worked out to get you where you are supposed to be, right here in the present. Everything comes together eventually. Not everything is supposed to work out. Sometimes we are on the road we didn’t want to be on, sometimes it is scary, but we keep going, for living life is the journey, rather than the destination.
When life gets difficult, it is easy to be negative. This is when we understand that God is enough. He gives us what we need, not necessarily what we want. That is exactly how it should be. We cannot understand the greater plan because we are so used to thinking small. You have to be strong and put your faith in God to know what’s best for you.
Sometimes things have to go wrong before they can go right. Sometimes we have to let the wrong people walk out before we allow the right people to walk in. Sometimes we have to feel weak in order to know what it’s like to feel strong. Sometimes you have to be broken to realize you’ll never be shattered. Sometimes you have to “be in like” before you can “be in love”. Sometimes you have to take the good in with the bad to know what’s actually worthwhile.
Sometimes life turns around and slaps you upside the head and it hurts. Sometimes love rips your heart from your chest and throws it in the deep end, and you learn to move on. Sometimes you can’t find yourself in your own mind and you smile.
Sometimes dreams come true but no one is there to pinch you. And you keep dreaming! People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing — that’s why we recommend it daily. ~Zig Ziglar ~
Sometimes, there are things in our lives that aren’t meant to stay. Sometimes, change may not be what we want. Sometimes, change is exactly what we need. And sometimes, saying goodbye is the hardest thing you think you’ll ever have to do, but sometimes, saying hello again is the thing that breaks you down and makes you more vulnerable than you ever thought possible. Sometimes, change is too much to bear. But most of the time, change is the only thing saving your life.
Keep on going, and the chances are that you will stumble on something, perhaps when you are least expecting it. I never heard of anyone ever stumbling on something sitting down. ~ Charles F. Kettering ~

YULE LOG
The Yule Log began as an ancient Celtic tradition of celebrating the Winter Solstice. Yule is the name of the old Winter Solstice festivals in Scandinavia and other parts of northern Europe and Germany. The head of the family would find a tree trunk or an enormous large branch and would burn it on the shortest day of the year. The largest end of the log would be placed into the fire hearth while the rest of the tree stuck out into the room. The act was a way of celebrating the rebirth of the sun as well as giving thanks for the warmth and life it would bring with it. The Celts believed that trees had mystical powers and would bring good luck to the next harvest.
As an ancient tradition originating in Europe, the Yule Log warmed the house during the cold Christmas night. The family would gather around the hearth for Christmas. Children sang songs and stories were told by their grandparents while a log burned in the fireplace. Decorated with leaves and ribbons, it was lit by the youngest and the oldest family members after being blessed by the head of the family with oil, brandy, and sometimes with a branch that had been dipped in holy water. After the burning, the ashes were saved because they would protect the home from lightening and the devil in the upcoming year.
The Yule Log has its roots in Germanic and Anglo-Saxon paganism. Like the Christmas tree, the custom has been picked up and worked into the Christian Christmas holiday. In England, families would sit around the open hearth, burning the Yule Log, as well as a packet of kindling, that would signify good luck for the year to come. In parts of Spain, specifically Catalunya and some Aragon regions, parents set up the log at Christmas time, and made believe that it defecates small presents when children hit it with a stick. Priests in Serbia offer liturgies when putting the Yule Log (Badnjak) on the fire. In France, families burn the Yule Log every night for the 12 nights of Christmas, keeping the leftover remains locked up for good luck.
Burning a Yule Log is the oldest Christmas tradition there is. In many celebrations, the Yule Log became a smaller branch or small log, placed in the center of the Christmas table. Candle holders were placed around the branches or a Yule Log might be drilled to hold three candles. The colors of the candles are red, green and white and are surrounded by pine cones, cinnamon sticks, greenery and small cakes that were given to guests as treats.
Throughout the years, hearths eventually got smaller and turned into stoves. The Yule Log was supposed to burn for 12 hours. The log didn’t always burn that long so the tradition of a cake began and was intended as a way to stretch it out. Many new houses were not built with fire places so there was nowhere to burn an actual log, and many homes created a cake log as a replacement.
The Yule Log of today, made to resemble a tiny tree log, is a popular Christmas dessert. It is made of a chocolate sponge roll, layered with cream. The outside is covered with shaved chocolate from a vegetable peeler, and chocolate buttercream icing and decorated to look like a bark-covered log. Yule Log cakes have been a classic Christmas confection since the 19th century.
“Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.” ~ Washington Irving ~
We at www.secretserendipity.com wish you a wonderful Christmas filled with memories you’ll always treasure. May success be with you and everything you do and may your home be filled with love and cheer. Have a wonderful and peaceful Christmas.
MOVE THOSE MOUNTAINS
The mountains symbolize problems in your life. Understand what each problem is, and break them down into small pieces. Then figure out one practical solution you can take for each of the pieces. Then use those solutions to help solve each problem.
Ask for help from others. We don’t have to solve every problem on our own. If you just ask, you may find that people will be willing to help you. We will probably find that the problem might not be as bad as we thought.
You don’t have to be right, or have the right solution. The need to be right can make you miss solutions that are just what you need to solve the problem. Always be open to different solutions. If the first one doesn’t work, try the next. Learn from what doesn’t work, and try again. Don’t be discouraged.
The mountains that we are facing in life can also be removed with faith. There are mountains of problems, of difficulties, of setbacks, of troubles, of burdens, of hardships, of defeat, of depression, low self esteem and many others. Have faith that your beliefs can help you deal with the mountains in life. Trust in God that he will help you remove the mountains that are holding you back. Sometimes a person will be sent into your life for a reason, to help you move these mountains.
Patient, enduring faith to overcome the insurmountable mountain of the hardest tasks in life, can be accomplished with a desire to grow in faith, patience, and trust that something can happen as all things are possible with God.
The wheel of change always turns in the direction of what you put into your mind, and you must start filling your mind with positive things. If you want to move a mountain of depression out of your life, you will have to start talking positive. When your talk is positive, good things happen. When your talk is negative, misery and limitations become your unwanted guests. The world will create constant mountains for you, Be strong, have faith, and your mountains can be moved.
Patience and diligence, like faith, moves mountains. ~ William Penn ~

A WORLD AT PEACE – Prayer
Sweet Spirit: Thank You for the faculty of imagination. I imagine a world at perfect peace. I imagine harmony, joy and friendship between people. I imagine a world free of disease. I imagine clean air and water everywhere. I imagine freedom for all people. I imagine a planet where love is the law. I imagine Heaven on Earth. And so it is. Amen.
“Unless and until we have peace deep within us, we can never hope to have peace in the outer world. You and I create the world by the vibrations that we offer to it. If we can invoke peace and then offer it to somebody else, we will see how peace expands from one to two persons, and gradually to the world at large. Peace will come about in the world from the perfection of individuals. If you have peace, I have peace, he has peace, and she has peace, then automatically universal peace will dawn.” ~ Sri Chinmoy, The Jewels of Happiness: Inspiration and Wisdom to Guide Your Life-Journey ~

THE OPTIMIST (Video)
For myself I am an optimist – it does not seem to be much use to be anything else. ~ Winston Churchill ~
Everyone experiences setbacks in life. Optimally positive people recognize those speed bumps and proceed to problem-solve their way around them. Who you are is partly a reflection of who you choose to surround yourself with. That’s why a good support system is necessary to achieve an optimistic outlook. If you are in a negative mood, think of something positive to say, even if it isn’t how you feel. Most situations can be seen in a positive and a negative light. Believe the positive. This will lead you into an optimistic outlook on life. Optimists lead better, longer lives, be one!

I WILL TRY!
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature I meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of myself that I have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, to noble for anger, too strong for fear and too happy to permit the presence of trouble. I will try to be the best I can be.
How can I do this?
In life, there will always be someone who is better than you. And if you are better than them at something, there’s something else where they excel. It is how you treat those below you that determines your character. If you are doing what you love, you will be happy. If you keep on learning and challenging yourself, you will know you are making progress. The next time someone offers you an opportunity and you are not sure whether to take it, just do it. If positive thinking doesn’t come naturally to you, make a point of thinking positive thoughts any time a negative thought pops up. You pick your own thoughts, you know!

REALITY IN THE MAKING
To those who see with loving eyes, life is beautiful. To those who speak with tender voices, life is peaceful. To those who help with gentle hands, life is full. And to those who care with compassionate hearts, life is good beyond all measure.
The three things in life that we crave the most, happiness, freedom and peace of mind, are always attained by giving them to someone else. We create our own reality.
Life really is amazing.. but maybe we really have to realize, know and embrace this and truly stop looking at others and what they say and not focus on all the calamity but the good stuff that… happens every day, but we instead respond with “yeah but”. Perhaps we should stop using that phrase and no matter what is seen, ignore it and go beyond it to what we want to see.

ADVERSITY AND PROSPERITY
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. ~ Anne Bradstreet ~
Life is full of ups and downs. By developing the right, proper, or correct habits in the times of prosperity, you will be well prepared for when adversity appears. Adversity brings wisdom the hard way. It can also be learned in times of prosperity. And as the church teaches, “There are some joys in our sorrows.”
All we really have control over is our actions and a gut feeling (or hearts desire) of what we hope the outcome of our lives to be. The rest is up to a higher power greater than our own. Trust the Universe will provide you with exactly what you need when you need it.
We all must deal with adversity. Every challenge and every difficulty we successfully confront in life serves to strengthen our will, confidence and ability to conquer future obstacles. If we help each other overcome adversity, healing becomes a mutually shared experience.

THE FAMILY
Family life is full of major and minor crises – the ups and downs of health, success and failure in career, marriage, and divorce – and all kinds of characters. It is tied to places and events and histories. With all of these felt details, life etches itself into memory and personality. It’s difficult to imagine anything more nourishing to the soul. ~~ Thomas Moore ~
Family is a place where you can be yourself, and in a family there are no terms and conditions. This is where everyone is there to help you. Family supports you when you are surrounded by troubles. It helps you endure through tough times & bring joy and pleasure to the good times. At the time, when even our best friends turn their backs on us, it is our family that will be there to help us.
Families come in many different forms. It can consist of only siblings, may or may not have parents, grandparents or children. Whatever shape your family takes, be sure to honor it and respect those who will in turn respect you. So it is very important for each and every individual to give significance to their families above anything else and appreciate those family members that will always accept us for who we are.

UNLIMITED LIFE with AFFIRMATIONS
Life has no limitations, except the ones you make. ~ Les Brown ~
There are many ways in which we place limitations on ourselves and each limitation is different from person to person. If you are getting frustrated because you don’t seem to be meeting your goals, you might be doing everything right but the reason why you are not achieving your goals is because of some limitation that you have placed on yourself and have not realized it yet.

Make a list of some good affirmations and start saying them every morning and get yourself on a positive path. We make our own reality, now is the time to make it a good one.

HERBAL TEA
Next to water, tea is the most widely-consumed beverage in the world. There’s such a great feeling on a chilly fall day to have a soothing cup of herbal tea. Besides being a warming, caffeine-free pick-me-up, herbal tea has lots of wonderful health benefits. It soothes an upset stomach, eases insomnia and calms a troubled mind. Herbal teas have all sorts of healing powers. Drinking herbal tea can also be a great source of vitamins and minerals.
Herbal tea is an infusion of leaves, seeds, roots and bark, extracted in hot water. This enables us to get all the plants’ benefits in an easily digestible form. Drinking herbal tea is something you can share with people, and when you’re drinking herbal tea, you get aromatherapy at the same time.

APPRECIATING GOD
We need to do more than just tell our troubles to God. God already knows. What we do need to learn to do is sit down with God and look for solutions: What actions to take, choices to make, directions to turn. In our conversation with God, we need to hear both the joyful and painful aspects of the situations in our lives. This is what I believe is “turning it over.”
Far from sitting and waiting for God to magically run our lives, turning it over involves turning in a different direction. Sometimes, that different direction is what allows us to discover and appreciate God in ways we never thought possible. ~ Father Leo Booth (Meditations for Compulsive People) ~
God designed creation in such a way as to point to the greater wonder of an all wise creator.
Here’s the thought this morning – How often do you take time to appreciate God?

KINDNESS WITHIN
Loving Universal Spirit: A difference in being polite and being kind is that of depth of the expression. As I strive toward overall harmlessness, a great transformation is taking place within me. I am awakening to a new depth of kindness within me that begins with kindness towards myself and within my thinking. My perceptions change, my heart opens and my activities are in service to those around me. And so it is. Amen.
The greatest act of God’s kindness was a gift of sacrificial love. The Father sacrificed his own Son. This act of kindness makes me want to be kind to others. It makes me want others to experience this act of kindness. This is why Matthew 7:12 follows the passage with the “Golden Rule”: So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

THE POWER OF SERENDIPITY
We are firm believers in the power of serendipity, and we believe that Serendipity is Unlimited. We believe that life has an order to it, and that things occur in ways and for reasons that are sometimes beyond our human logic and understanding.
Serendipitous experiences are the norm rather than the exception in our daily lives. We often ask “Why?” Most of the time, however, the answers are beyond our reach. In some cases, the passage of time makes the issue clearer and we benefit from the gift of hindsight, but not necessarily in every instance.
Life is rigged in our favor, if we only take a break once in a while and allow the Universe/God/Supreme Being to proverbially “drive the bus” instead of doing what most of us normally do — grab control of the steering wheel because we are sure we know what’s best for us. When we operate in the “take control” mode, we often make mistakes. We’re suggesting that perhaps there’s a better way to go through life. Our goal is to provide you with a variety of items that we believe can gently enhance your life’s journey as a “spiritual being having a human experience.”
We believe in crystals for healing and energy; candles that can help you create a sacred space; angels in many forms; books; meditation CDs, and other sources of light, love, knowledge and inspiration. We believe they will help you on your journey of “Peace, Love, Happiness and Music.”
As we walk though life, we sometimes feel overwhelmed or distracted, and we seek to regain our “center.” At those times, we need gentle reminders of the things that are truly important to us. Our Spiritual Affirmations page may be of help, so be sure to check it out!

Deepak Chopra on Super Genes:
Deepak Chopra Quotes:
“If you want to do really important things in life and big things in life, you can’t do anything by yourself. And your best teams are your friends and your siblings.”
“Enlightened leadership is spiritual if we understand spirituality not as some kind of religious dogma or ideology but as the domain of awareness where we experience values like truth, goodness, beauty, love and compassion, and also intuition, creativity, insight and focused attention.”
“New Age values are conscious evolution, a non-sectarian society, a non-military culture, global sharing, healing the environment, sustainable economies, self-determination, social justice, economic empowerment of the poor, love, compassion in action, going beyond religious fundamentalism, going beyond nationalism-extreme nationalism, culture.”
“Many scientists think that philosophy has no place, so for me it’s a sad time because the role of reflection, contemplation, meditation, self inquiry, insight, intuition, imagination, creativity, free will, is in a way not given any importance, which is the domain of philosophers.”
LIVING OUR VISION
I have heard it said that living out of our vision is more powerful than living out of our circumstance. Holding on to a vision invokes the circumstances by which the vision is achieved. Vision is content; material circumstances mere form. ~ Marianne Williamson (A Return to Love) ~
Too often we let the circumstances of life control our destiny. We don’t have control over everything that happens to us, but we can learn to act and react. This helps us to remain unaffected by circumstance. We can believe and have confidence if we have the understanding of the sovereignity of God in our lives. He has complete and total independent control over every creature, event and circumstance.
Having a vision is having the wisdom to see past events in expectation of a greater outcome. To hold onto our vision of what our life is supposed to be, we need to focus on what we can control. Create what you want to be. Paint a mental image of that vision to help you understand what it is you really want. Don’t allow yourself to become ditracted from your goal. Don’t expect a clear vision to happen overnight. Determining the course you will follow requires time and reflection. Think about what you want, not on what you don’t want. Focus on your dreams, not what others expect of you.
Think about where you are now and where you want to be in the future. The journey towards your vision is just as important as the destination. To move forward with your vision, you need to maintain a good attitude and pray that you are able to see things God’s way instead of your own.
“Never surrender your hopes and dreams to the fateful limitations others have placed on their own lives. The vision of your true destiny does not reside within the blinkered outlook of the naysayers and the doom prophets. Judge not by their words, but accept advice based on the evidence of actual results. Do not be surprised should you find a complete absence of anything mystical or miraculous in the manifested reality of those who are so eager to advise you. Friends and family who suffer the lack of abundance, joy, love, fulfillment and prosperity in their own lives really have no business imposing their self-limiting beliefs on your reality experience.” ~ Anthon St. Maarten ~
“The first step toward creating an improved future is developing the ability to envision it. VISION will ignite the fire of passion that fuels our commitment to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to achieve excellence. Only VISION allows us to transform dreams of greatness into the reality of achievement through human action. VISION has no boundaries and knows no limits. Our VISION is what we become in life. ” ~ Tony Dungy ~

SOMEONE SPECIAL
There are only a handful of people that you’ll meet in life, that truly touch your heart and make you glad you’re alive. They’ve got a special presence when they walk into a room. It’s almost like they were sent there to take away your gloom. They can make you happy when everything seems sad. So happy it almost makes you mad. They forget about their problems, and brighten up your day. And you don’t realize it until they’ve gone away.
They teach us to enjoy every day, live life to the fullest. Laugh, love and play because there’s no guarantee you’ll get another day. So if you have a chance to make someone smile, don’t pass up the opportunity to make them happy for awhile. It may be their last chance and you’ll remember them and their smile. ~~ Sharon L.
