I’ve Learned: That you should never say no to a gift from a child. Giving is a natural and a spiritual process. Receiving plays a major part in that process because the giving is not complete until the gift is accepted. Never refuse to accept a gift from a child. Giving is the gateway to receiving. Accept the gift so the giver will be blessed. It is never about the value of the gift. Instead, it is the principle of giving that blesses the person.
The receiver of the gift needs to accept the gift to help the giver be blessed. When a child gives you a gift, no matter how small the gift is, do not refuse it. It is always better to give than to receive because what the giver gives is multiplied back many times. Children learn from giving.

Waiting for the fish to bite or waiting for wind to fly a kite. Or waiting around for Friday night or waiting perhaps for their Uncle Jake or a pot to boil or a better break or a string of pearls or a pair of pants or a wig with curls or another chance. Everyone is just waiting. ~ Dr. Seuss
Can you really do anything about waiting in lines? Not really, but the New York Times offers one final bit of advice for dealing with them: The dominant cost of waiting is an emotional one: stress, boredom, that nagging sensation that one’s life is slipping away. The last thing we want to do with our dwindling leisure time is squander it in stasis. We’ll never eliminate lines altogether, but a better understanding of the psychology of waiting can help make those inevitable delays that inject themselves into our daily lives a touch more bearable. And when all else fails, bring a book.
And in the end, it is not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years. ~ Abraham Lincoln
It seems like we spend so much of our life just waiting. Let us make the best use of the time we have, and live in the today. Follow us at www.secretserendipity.com as we travel in the now.
Thanksgiving is all about family and friends, coming together, celebrating the grateful feelings that we have in our hearts and all the blessings we have received throughout the year. It is special for everyone. You don’t have to believe in any particular religious creed to express gratitude for all the good in your life. Thanksgiving is also the holiday dedicated to eating food.
The turkey is the main attraction, usually accompanied by stuffing, cranberry sauce, a green bean casserole, creamy mashed potatoes and gravy, a fancy Jello salad, and is usually followed by a slice of pumpkin pie.
Thanksgiving is the day for giving thanks. Here is a list of our top 15 reasons for which we are thankful.
1) Freedom Despite frustration with politics. I’m thankful to be living in the U.S. I’m very thankful for the men and women — and their families — serving in our military.
2) Friends and family. I’m thankful for new relationships and connections this past year — both online and right here at home. Of course, I love my long-time friendships as well.
3) Healthy Children. Children from families who eat together on a regular basis are more likely to have family support, positive peer influences, and positive role models. The world of tomorrow will inherit the children of today.
4) Nature. I’m thankful for the beautiful world around me — for the changing seasons, the brilliant colors, the promise of coming spring.
5) Finding money in your pocket. Money that hasn’t been budgeted for, remembered, or owed. It is disposable income in the truest sense of the phrase.
6) A pet. Having a pet helps you stay connected to life. They are great companions and the perfect best friend. They are always around when you need them and provide constant and loving companionship. They ask for very little in return, they just want to be where you are.
7) Your health, even on days when it isn’t perfect. Being healthy means that your body is functioning as it should, without pain or discomfort. When we are in good health, we can enjoy all the good things in life, in moderation, without guilt or shame.
8) Your support system. It can be people at work, at home or spread out all over the country. Knowing there are people who are there for you can make all the difference. They are people who will lift you up and give you whatever you need with only a moment’s notice.
9) The healing power of music. Music has the power to heal and to join people together in peace. The spirit of music is within us all. Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.
10) Laughter. It makes us happy and healthy. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded. Nothing diffuses anger and conflict faster than a shared laugh.
11) Desserts. To live without them is to live in a colorless world. Eating desserts means that you have a good sense of what you want. We feel like we are feeding our soul with food that makes us feel like we’ve finally found Heaven. Desserts make life more enjoyable.
12) Police Officers, Firefighters, and all First Responders. These brave men and women risk their lives daily to save the lives of others. They work long and crazy hours around the clock, and rush to scenes helping complete strangers without thinking twice. They put themselves on the front line of dangerous and traumatic events every day.
13) Love. Love is accepting difference. It is letting each one be who they are without fear of censure. Love is an unselfish, loyal concern for the good of another. It is a wonderful feeling.
14) Good food and Clean Water. Good food gives us the energy we need to survive. Fresh water is one of our most vital resources. The quality of our water is directly linked to the quality of our lives. Without good food and clean water, the body cannot grow or perform at its best, our organs stop working, and the body eventually dies. We are blessed to have the best of both.
15) Money. Money is great because it means that life is not a constant effort at keeping our heads above water. When we have money, we are able to live life to the fullest, enjoy adventures, and make the most out of life.
We at www.secretserendipity.com are grateful to people who make us happy. Happy Thanksgiving, My Friends.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~ Leo Buscaglia ~
“Touch is without a doubt one of the most, if not the most powerful means of communication we have available to us as human beings” says James Smith, counselor at Willow Tree Christian Counseling in Northern Ireland. “We may speak, express ourselves through words, tone and the volume of our voice, or body language, however nothing comes close to touch.”
A touch doesn’t only have to mean being touched. Giving touch in healthy ways, from a hug to a handshake to a pat on the back, benefits you—and the person on the receiving end. And you don’t have to be in a relationship to do it. Even a quick touch like a high-five (for those friends who hate to hug) can be beneficial. Touch doesn’t have to be person to person. Use your down time to groom or pet your dog or let your cat nap in your lap as you make phone calls.
Serendipity is a spiritual belief. A situation is considered serendipitous when you find something unexpected and beneficial, even though you were looking for something else. It is those wrong turns in your life that in hindsight, you realize how fortunate you were to have made them. We usually don’t realize that an event is serendipitous until years later.
Trust the Universe. Know that things happen the way they are supposed to happen. Expect your unexpected good will happen. The Universe wants us to be successful and sends us messages everyday to help guide us in our journey. Many of these messages are serendipitous. Be open to receive them, trust your angels, smile, and things will go your way.
Follow us at www.secretserendipity.com for we believe that serendipitous events are unlimited!
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, when the road you’re trudging seems all uphill, when funds are low and the debts are high, and you want to smile, but you have to sigh. When care is pressing you down a bit, REST, if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns, as every one of us sometimes learns. And many a failure turns about, when he might have won had he stuck it out. Don’t give up though the pace seems slow. You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out, the silver tint of the clouds of doubt. And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far. So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit. It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit. ~~ Author Unknown ~
If we want to be productive and healthy, we must take care of our minds, bodies and spirits. It is important to have balance in our lives. We must choose to be productive, for being productive is healthy, and doing good, meaningful work that fits our talents can keep us alive and healthy for a lifetime.
Doing what you love to do, and doing it well, and helping other people learn, succeed and do what they love to do brings benefits back to you. It doesn’t matter what it is you do so long as it is not destructive to others, and you feel good about what you are doing, and making your contribution.
We are all in it together. It doesn’t matter how small or large of a part we play, as long as we are doing something. Don’t look around at others to do your part. Do your fair share, help others do theirs, and enjoy the rewards of a healthy, productive, long life.
We all strive to be self-sufficient. Human nature tells us that we always want to figure everything out for ourselves. That is a great way to be, it is the key to self-confidence. Once we understand that, trying to do everything ourselves can also stifle our progress.
No one is good at everything. We all are good at something, and can appreciate that others are much better a some things than we are. Whatever it is that we are trying to accomplish, we realize that someone else already knows how to do it well. Let’s save all that time and frustration that we would have used by getting them to either teach us how to do it, or help us do it.
The quickest path to success is to stick to doing the things you are good at and have others help you with the rest. Realizing the wisdom of this approach is one of the main reasons why so many people are able to succeed. Do your best, always be open to learning more, help others, and don’t be afraid to accept help when needed. Remember to never abuse a friendship and try and return the help a bit more than you received, for then everyone wins!
See others with an open heart. Recognize that everyone has value. Be respectful to everyone you interact with. Give them a chance to talk, don’t say or do anything insulting, respect their differences, and generally treat them the way that you would want to be treated.
The most important part of interacting well with others is to listen to them. It’s a lot less about how much you say or how you say it, and mostly down to how you respond to the things that you really hear them say. Practice your basic listening skills, as well as your ability to read between the lines, and you’ll be interacting like a pro in no time!
Be more confident in yourself. You never know what you are capable of until you try. You may find that others think your contributions to discussions are interesting, worthwhile, and important. Besides, those kinds of conversations can be a great opportunity to widen your knowledge about different subjects which might help your confidence in the future.
Everyone around you affects your mood, and you affect theirs. Try getting into the habit of smiling, walking with energy rather than shuffling and slumping, and enjoying your surroundings.
We begin to follow Christ’s lead when we interact with people through love. His lead is incarnate. This means we are to live among, and rub shoulders with, those who need us. We can’t love at a distance. You cannot commute to a calling. This is the essence of living a life of love and justice–entering into the daily reality of others and reflecting the love of God into their lives.
The Sun has one kind of splendor, the Moon another and the Stars another, and star differs from star in splendor. The Moon has a mystique all its own. It is often thought of with secrecy and mystery, and is associated with strange, uncanny powers. It evokes a peculiar range of responses in cultures everywhere, from curiosity and wonder, to romance and affection, to awe and dread. It is believed that the Full Moon brings forth weird behaviors, extreme reactions, and over-the-top emotional outbursts associated with no other time on the calendar.
People fall in love under the full moon. It’s hard to see a beautiful yellow-gold moon rising and not want to walk along the sea shore hand-in-hand with someone special. Ancient cultures worshiped the moon, and held ceremonies, rituals and festivals in its honor. Mythologies speak of Moon Goddesses. The moon represents your emotional, inner self, your instincts, habits and automatic reactions.
The moon influences the tides. It influences the gravitational field of the earth. Full Moons are at the height of the moon’s power. This is an excellent time for meditation and psychic workings. Crystal cleansing is particularly recommended at this time. Flood your crystal with moonlight before doing the cleansing for best results.

The new earth arises as more and more people discover that their main purpose in life is to bring the light of consciousness into this world and to use whatever they do as a vehicle for consciousness. ~ Eckhart Tolle~ (A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose)
The light of Consciousness, the Self, is the light of the intellect, and allows for awareness of the contents of the mind and the senses. Mystics relate the Self to the sun and the mind to the moon. The moon has no light of its own but simply reflects the light of the Sun. Mystical and spiritual teachings equate consciousness most directly with the light.
Everything that we know or experience is consciousness. Consciousness assists us in unraveling the profound mystery of our own essence and our relationship with the infinite and eternal aspects of God, or the unmanifested Light of Pure Being. Our own individual levels of perception and understanding are connected to our level of consciousness.
Call them rules or call them limits. Good ones, I believe, have this in common: They serve reasonable purposes, they are practical and within a child’s capability. They are consistent, and they are an expression of loving concern. ~~ Fred Rogers ~
Personal boundaries are the limits we set for ourselves in life. Boundaries come from having a good sense of our own self-worth. They make it possible for us to separate our own thoughts and feelings from those of others and to take responsibility for what we think, feel and do. They allow us to rejoice in our own personal uniqueness. Boundaries allow us to get close to others when it is appropriate and to maintain our distance when it is necessary to do so. It is important to establish our limits, or personal boundaries, when we are a child. The boundaries that we set for ourselves, will help form who we become as an adult. Personal Boundaries allow us to take care of ourselves and each other.
I’ve learned: That under everyone’s hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved. One of the basic needs all human beings have is the need for love. When we show appreciation and love people the way they need to be loved, it draws them closer to us and us to them.
We started from the love of our creator, who conceived us all into being. We need love because our soul’s wisdom remembers this and love is the continual connection to the source of life. Therefore, when we love others or receive love from others, we can feel God’s presence. We are connecting to the divine source in each other. “Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
– Matthew 6:25-34” ~~ Holy Bible: King James Version
We all forget that we cannot do it all. We want to take on more without giving something up. To avoid burnout, recognize when your feel stress coming on. It is important to be willing to take a break or have a time out. Always allow yourself ample time for your responsibilities, also.
When you feel overwhelmed with work and responsibilities, don’t lose sleep over it. Remember, even if you are dealing with a chronic issue, stress is manageable. If you can’t solve the problem, you can cope by managing how you handle your feelings. Make time to watch something inspirational, write in a journal or work on an art project as a way to distract your thinking and uplift your mood. When you enjoy yourself, whether gardening, seeing friends, or going for a walk, you relax your emotions.

In taking revenge, a man is but even with his enemy, but in passing it over, he is superior. Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested. If a man be gracious and courteous to strangers, it shows he is a citizen of the world. ~~ Francis Bacon ~
Beingcourteous to others is not only respectful to others, but it directly reflects on you as a person. Being courteous means putting yourself in the other person’s shoes instead of thinking of yourself first. It means doing something without being asked and this is not a one time event. We all think we are courteous to some extent, but it takes practice. Bad habits don’t get better unless you are aware of them. Let us start this new day by making an effort to treat each other how we would like to be treated, and let’s do it with a smile. We can do our part to make the world a better place.
When we learn that real wisdom comes directly from God, we shall no longer seek knowledge through the training of the senses to discriminate between illusions; nor shall we depend on experience for instruction. Real wisdom does not come from the experience; experience can only tell us how it feels to live in illusions and overcome illusions; but it tells us nothing about how it feels to live in the real and ascend into the greater and the greater of the life real. ~ Christian D. Larsen (The Pathway of Roses: Paths to the Life Beautiful) ~
Barry Schwartz: “A wise person is made, not born. Wisdom depends on experience and not just any experience. You need the time to get to know the people that you are serving, you need permission to be allowed to improvise, to try new things, occasionally to fail and to learn from your failures. And you need to be mentored by wise teachers.”
This is the beginning of a new day. I can waste it or use it for good. What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place something I have traded for it. I want it to be a gain, not a loss; good, not evil; success, not failure — in order that I shall not regret the price I paid for it today.
This is the beginning of a new day. I have been given this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good. What I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that I have left behind… let it be something good.
I am thankful for a new day, to live, to love, to talk, to smile, to laugh, to walk, to dream, to share, to write, to hope, to pray, to praise God and to fulfill my purpose on earth.
This is a new day. Everything that was a limited condition before this moment was only there because we did not really, fully, passionately, deeply believe in miracles. But if we really, fully, passionately believe in them now, then what was shall be no more and what has been trying to get in shall find its way to us now.
That is how good God is. So face your future. Somebody would look at a baby and say he has his whole life ahead of him. Well, guess what? So do you! Let’s go live it. ~ Marianne Williamson ~
If, instead of a gem or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give. ~ George MacDonald ~
To send the gift of love into the heart of a friend, send them a smile. A smile can have a profound effect on your overall well being, and the well being of those people you come in contact with every day. Unfortunately, you cannot give others something you don’t already have, so you need to feel the feelings of love and appreciation first. Start by loving yourself, accepting who you are, and then Practice, practice, practice, and soon, this will be something you send regularly, without even realizing you are doing it.
We all want to be loved and accepted. Loving and being loved are what makes our lives worth living. It is what motivates people to get up each day and keep going. Loving is sometimes difficult. It breaks down barriers and exposes the heart. We take a chance when we love. But if there is no cost, there is no love.
We can start by giving loving gestures, like smiles, hugs and compliments. The more loving our actions are, the more loving we will be and the easier it will be to give, and to love. The fulfillment we find in life is directly related to how deeply we give unconditional love to others. When we are ready to give love, love will be returned to us in some very remarkable ways.
Health and productivity go hand in hand. We need balance of both to live life to the fullest. We talk about the need for balance, but sometimes we don’t understand how important it is. Being productive is healthy, and doing good, meaningful work that fits our talents can keep us alive and healthy for a long time.
Keep busy and keep moving. Poor health follows those that sit back and let life pass them by. Doing what you love to do, and doing it well, brings many benefits back to you. Helping other people learn and succeed is one of the great ways to make this happen. No job is too small or unimportant, all work has dignity and can become a way in which a person can grow and make a contribution to the quality of their life and the lives of others.

People who wake up earlier in the morning are known to be happier and have higher satisfaction with their lives. They aren’t just happier in the mornings, they’re happier all throughout the day. What you do earlier in the day, sets the tone for your entire day. When you wake up early as a habit, you’ll experience less stress and more satisfaction from the things you do. Smile as soon as you open your eyes, and tell yourself it’s going to be a great day.
The moment when you first wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours. No matter how weary or dreary you may feel, you possess the certainty that, during the day that lies before you, absolutely anything may happen. And the fact that it practically always doesn’t, matters not a jolt. The possibility is always there. ~ Monica Baldwin
Live today to its fullest potential. Remember that your angels are always with you. Call on them to help guide your way.
Angels are always around us. They are there at night, and they are there when we are waking up. Speaking to your Angels is as simple as saying “Thank you.” Asking for their guidance and assistance is all they need to be invoked to your side. Anytime you feel like speaking to them is the right time. For instance, when you wake up in the morning you can simply say “Thank you Angels for allowing me to wake up to another beautiful day. Thank you for allowing me to be alive.” You can speak to the Angels before you go to bed at night by saying “Thank you for helping me today.
Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself, or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love. ~ Don Miguel Ruiz ~
If you a willing to say what you mean, be prepared to hear feedback that you might not like. If you begin feeling defensive, be mindful of that and keep it in check. Honesty truly is the best policy but sometimes it’s just better to say nothing.
“The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.” ~ Jim Morrison ~
“Above all, don’t lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.” ~ Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamazov ~
There are two things that prevent us from achieving our dreams. The first is that we believe that our dreams are impossible to achieve, and the second is seeing them made possible by the twist of the wheel of fate, when we least expect it. For at that moment, all our fears rise to the surface: the fear of suddenly setting off along a road heading god knows where, the fear of a life full of new challenges, the fear of losing forever all that is familiar.
We need to stop living in the past, stop planning our future, and stop trying to figure out how we feel. We need to stop deciding with our mind exactly what we want our heart to feel. Sometimes we just have to go with the flow.

A Spiritual Awakening starts with a feeling that travels throughout our body, mind and soul. It is a connection we make with the Divine. It is a reconnect with the spiritual and gives us an awareness full of love and peace within the Universe. A Spiritual Awakening is when our consciousness shifts and grows. We feel like a new person, one who experiences deep happiness. The more we grow spiritually, the less we will be attracted to hypocrisy in others. It is a time to speak our truth. It is a time to listen to our heart. Spirituality awakens in us a sense of inner peace.
A walk in nature will make us feel more connected to the Universe and a deep oneness with our fellow man. We develop a love of nature. Our heart will open up and soften towards all of God’s creatures. We learn that we are all one, we feel it deeply, and know that we are connected by Divine Spiritual energy. As spiritual people, we are joyous. We become the change we wish to see in the world. We feel our life only has a meaning when we do something for others. It is an awakening to the spiritual side of our being.
Evolving spiritually can be a confusing process. It is a time when we seek the meaning of our life. Spiritual Awakenings are our soul’s cry for freedom. When we experience a spiritual awakening, we find we are drawn to personal development. We know what is best for us, and right decisions become clear. It is time for us to re-evaluate our connections with negative things and people. This has to be accomplished as gently as possible as we are all living as one in the same Universe. It is not a time to isolate ourselves from those that do not understand. We are called to lead by example. Our responsibility is to spread peace and truth by our actions.
“Within you lies opportunity to grow in spirit. Keep your feet on the Earth, but lift your face towards the heavens. Surrender to the Light with a tranquil mind, and a heart full of the love of God.” ~ White Eagle. ~
“When you do things from your soul you feel a river moving in you, a joy. When action come from another section, the feeling disappears.” ~ Rumi. ~
We at www.secretserendipity.com know how important a Spiritual Awakening is to all of us. We welcome the opportunity to experience inner peace.
