Meditation is about the NOW. Meditation allows us to go deep into the heart of the matter to gain access to our inner reality. Most people like the idea of meditation but feel they don’t have the time for it. When you really want to do something you can find the time to do it. You can get up earlier or watch 20 minutes less of television. The meditation cleaning of the mind makes the rest of the day more productive.
If everyone else around you is worthy of your care and attention, then so are you. You not only deserve this time, but you need it for your own well-being. Lack of time for ourselves often leads to feeling frustrated, tired, overwhelmed and out of balance. Without this time for ourselves, we lose sight of what’s important to us. Meditation is worth allowing time for.
Nothing is better than the feeling of inner peace. Meditation is not about retreating from the world, it is about giving us inspiration to be a better person. If you have peace of mind, your work will be more enjoyable and productive.
Check out our website, www.secretserendipity.com for more thoughts and helps on meditation for inner peace.
The kind of spirituality I value is one in which you get great joy out of contributing to life, not just sitting and meditating, although meditation is certainly valuable. But from the meditation, from the resulting consciousness, I would like to see people in action creating the world that they want to live in. ~ Marshall Rosenberg ~
To create the world that you want to live in, first thing you must do is change your thinking from believing that you live in a world you can’t control, to a belief that you live in a world you can control. Start by envisioning the world you want to live in, how you want to feel moment to moment, what you can do to improve things, and believe that you can create positive change.
Beeswax candles are our favorite type of candle. Beeswax candles are a wonderful natural choice if you are looking for alternatives to paraffin candles. Because of its high melting point 100% beeswax candles burn longer, are smokeless, virtually dripless, and clean the air with negative ions…plus they have a wonderful honey fragrance.
Healing and spiritual powers have been attributed to all products of the beehive. Honey has always been considered holy, a gift from God, and endowed with esoteric and mystical qualities. The Path of Pollen, or bee shamanism, is a calling into the secrets of healing, longevity, and spiritual powers of bee products, including honey, wax, and pollen. The Hebrew word for bee is dbure, meaning word, with the message being that the bee brings the Divine word. Specifically beeswax candles are designated for the Christian Roman Mass.
To burn a beeswax candle is to enter into the wisdom world of the bee, and you enter, too, into a world of benefits from the bee. Beeswax are definitely our candles of choice.

Advent is the one time of the church year that is dedicated to the “coming” of Christ at Christmas. It is the time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity. The Advent season lasts for four Sundays leading up to Christmas.
The Advent wreath is the most popular tradition of Advent, and wreaths are typically present in both church and in the home. An Advent wreath can be a teaching tool and a reminder for Christians of the true meaning of Christmas. It is often circular, representing God’s eternity and it includes 4 candles – one for each Sunday of Advent. Some Advent wreaths bear a fifth candle that is to be lit on Christmas Day.
First candle (Purple) The Prophecy Candle of Hope
Second candle (Purple) The Bethlehem Candle
Third Candle (Pink) The Shepherd’s Candle of Joy
Fourth Candle ( Purple) The Angel Candle of Love
Fifth Candle (White) The Christ Candle
We light the first two purple candles during the first two Sundays in Advent. The third Sunday of Advent is called the Rejoice Sunday, and we light the pink candle on the third Sunday. On the fourth and final Sunday, the final purple candle is lit to mark the final week of prayer and penance as we wait in anticipation for the birth of Christ on Christmas. The Fifth candle, the white candle, is lit on Christmas in celebration of the birth.
Many families practice the tradition of making their own Advent wreath. Your family can create their own special wreath or add personal touches to a store-bought wreath. To assemble your own wreath, put four candles on a wreath in a circle. A white candle may also be used, and belongs in the center of the circle. When assembling the Advent Wreath, decorate with a circle of fresh evergreen, pine, cedar, fir, spruce or any other branches and then add holly leaves and berries as symbolism of the crown of thorns. Pine cones can also be used, symbolizing the Resurrection. The candle is lit, prayers are said and then the candle is snuffed out. Every week thereafter, the previous candle(s) are lit, prayers are said, and all candles are snuffed out.
Here are sample Advent prayers:
Advent God, we journey with you, to Bethlehem’s stable and a new-born King, ears attuned to the song of angels, eyes alert for Bethlehem’s star. Forgive us if on our journey if we are distracted by the tempting offers of this world. Keep our hearts aflame with the hope of Christmas, and the promise of a Savior. Amen
God of hope, who brought love into this world, be the love that dwells between us.
God of hope, who brought peace into this world, be the peace that dwells between us.
God of hope, who brought joy into this world, be the joy that dwells between us.
God of hope, the rock we stand upon, be the center, the focus of our lives always, and particularly this Advent time. Amen
We at www.secretserendipity.com wish you light, hope and peace this Advent season.
Everyone dreams. Even if the dreams are not recalled, they did happen. Dreams are a way for our minds to cope with all the information and experiences that make up our lives. If you pay attention to your dreams, your subconscious will reveal in the dream the issues that you need to resolve in your waking life.
To help you remember dreams, before you go to bed, breathe deeply and focus mentally. Make a mental note to remember clearly any dream that you may have. If you wake up during the night, record what you remember of the dream at once. Have paper and pen ready next to your bed. Note whether the dream focused on the past, present or future. Recall first, then record as much as possible.
If you have issues that you continue to ignore consciously, there will ultimately be a subconscious eruption of some magnitude to get your attention. Your dreams are trying to tell you that it is time to respond positively to the situation that you are currently ignoring.
If you are interested in understanding your dreams, Meditation can be the answer. Meditations will help you prepare for dreaming and recording and recalling your dreams. There are different ways to prepare for meditation. This includes candles or incense, aromatherapy, and mind relaxation. Good meditation tapes can help you in this journey.
The Yule Log began as an ancient Celtic tradition of celebrating the Winter Solstice. Yule is the name of the old Winter Solstice festivals in Scandinavia and other parts of northern Europe and Germany. The head of the family would find a tree trunk or an enormous large branch and would burn it on the shortest day of the year. The largest end of the log would be placed into the fire hearth while the rest of the tree stuck out into the room. The act was a way of celebrating the rebirth of the sun as well as giving thanks for the warmth and life it would bring with it. The Celts believed that trees had mystical powers and would bring good luck to the next harvest.
As an ancient tradition originating in Europe, the Yule Log warmed the house during the cold Christmas night. The family would gather around the hearth for Christmas. Children sang songs and stories were told by their grandparents while a log burned in the fireplace. Decorated with leaves and ribbons, it was lit by the youngest and the oldest family members after being blessed by the head of the family with oil, brandy, and sometimes with a branch that had been dipped in holy water. After the burning, the ashes were saved because they would protect the home from lightening and the devil in the upcoming year.
The Yule Log has its roots in Germanic and Anglo-Saxon paganism. Like the Christmas tree, the custom has been picked up and worked into the Christian Christmas holiday. In England, families would sit around the open hearth, burning the Yule Log, as well as a packet of kindling, that would signify good luck for the year to come. In parts of Spain, specifically Catalunya and some Aragon regions, parents set up the log at Christmas time, and made believe that it defecates small presents when children hit it with a stick. Priests in Serbia offer liturgies when putting the Yule Log (Badnjak) on the fire. In France, families burn the Yule Log every night for the 12 nights of Christmas, keeping the leftover remains locked up for good luck.
Burning a Yule Log is the oldest Christmas tradition there is. In many celebrations, the Yule Log became a smaller branch or small log, placed in the center of the Christmas table. Candle holders were placed around the branches or a Yule Log might be drilled to hold three candles. The colors of the candles are red, green and white and are surrounded by pine cones, cinnamon sticks, greenery and small cakes that were given to guests as treats.
Throughout the years, hearths eventually got smaller and turned into stoves. The Yule Log was supposed to burn for 12 hours. The log didn’t always burn that long so the tradition of a cake began and was intended as a way to stretch it out. Many new houses were not built with fire places so there was nowhere to burn an actual log, and many homes created a cake log as a replacement.
The Yule Log of today, made to resemble a tiny tree log, is a popular Christmas dessert. It is made of a chocolate sponge roll, layered with cream. The outside is covered with shaved chocolate from a vegetable peeler, and chocolate buttercream icing and decorated to look like a bark-covered log. Yule Log cakes have been a classic Christmas confection since the 19th century.

Coping with the stress in our daily lives is something necessary for good mental and physical health. Medication along with peaceful imagery done correctly can be two successful ways of making this happen. Practice deep breathing, visualizing what you want to happen, practice mindfulness and try muscle relaxation exercises as important steps to relaxation.
Take your thoughts to the beach, or a lake, where you imagine hearing the sound of waves, feel the sun on your skin and imagine the sand in your toes. Imagine a calming boat ride. Finding that image that helps you calm down and relax instead of getting worked up and stressed out is the goal. Use deep breathing to help calm the mind and body. Reinforce these practices by playing meditation tapes at home, at the end of a trying workday, enhanced with the calming effects of beeswax candles or fragrant essential oils to complete the calming ritual.

Meditation is the dissolution of thoughts in eternal awareness or pure consciousness without objectification, knowing without thinking, merging finitude in infinity. ~ Voltaire ~
We meditate because this world of ours has not been able to fulfill us. There is too much anxiety, worry and frustration in our everyday lives. We are constantly at the mercy of negative forces that are all around us. They take the forms of jealousy, fear, worry anxiety and despair.
It is only through meditation that we can get lasting peace. If we meditate soulfully in the morning and receive peace for only one minute, that one minute of peace will permeate through our whole day. We need meditation because we want abiding peace, light and delight. If this is our aspiration, then meditation is the only way.
Meditation is important for cleansing the mind. You can practice meditation whether you’re sitting, lying down, walking, or in other positions or activities. Just try to be comfortable so that you can get the most out of your meditation. You can listen to sacred music, spoken words or any music you find relaxing or inspiring during meditation. Prayer is the best known and most widely practiced example of meditation. Spoken and written prayers are found in most faith traditions. You can pray using your own words or read prayers written by others.
Guided meditation is a focused mental activity that brings us to a state of balance where we can deeply relax and helps us lead more joyful and productive lives. Guided meditation helps us bring about change in our body by using our mind to heal. It helps activate our innate power and ability to energize and release negative emotions. These meditations teach us how to process and release stored emotions and shows us how to tap into our feelings of love, healing and connection. Guided meditation helps us feel refreshed and re-energyzed.
Candles alone are an excellent meditation tool. The flickering flame of a candle has a hypnotic, calming effect on your mind and body. Always use beeswax candles for they are thought to be the cleanest, purest, most intense candles available for meditations.
Put your candle in a holder and set it on a table in front of where you are sitting. Light the candle. Concentrate on the candle’s flame. Slowly breathe and imagine that you are inhaling the candle’s color and scent. Imagine your heart pumping the color and scent to all parts of your body. Breathe in the color energy and breathe out the negative energy. Feel the energy of the scent and color of the candle possessing your life and your mood. Do this for about 15 minutes or whatever you are comfortable with.
Choose which affirmations work for you and say them during meditation:
I listen to the truth of others; I share my truth honestly.
My willpower is aligned with my spiritual purposes in life.
I develop will each time I meet a life challenge.
I express my truth as creatively as possible.
I communicate with those who open their hearts to me.
I learn to listen to myself and trust my inner voice.
I develop my integrity each time I tell the truth.
My integrity is my word, and my word is my truth.
My communication comes directly from my deep center.
I express my love and goodness each time I speak.
My spirit rests in peace and silence.
I trust the whisper of angels’ voices as I sit in silence.
When you are finished, slowly shake yourself out of your meditative state.

Have you wondered why your luck always seems to be bad? That is a sign from the Universe that you’re getting back what you put in. If you want a different kind of luck, you’re going to need to put in a different kind of energy. Meditation is one of the fastest ways to do this.
Meditation is a way to calm the mind, relieve stress, and improve concentration. It will make Good Karma as meditation is the basis of right thinking, which leads to right action. Thinking and action are tied into the universal law of karma. Karma is created by our thoughts and actions. Since bad karma only results in negative reaction, bad associations and ill fortune, it makes sense to have a plan to be aware of what we are doing so our results are in harmony with the way we truly want to live.

Meditation is the stilling of the chaos the perpetually involves itself in our human existence and the arrival at a definitive point of reference where we meet as one with God. ~ Sheila Gautreaux-Lee (Praying Through a Storm) ~
Meditation is the state of thoughtless awareness. Meditation and contemplation are states of focused attention. It is no mistake that God chooses to talk to us inside of our own minds. Meditation is where we meet as one with God. There is nothing wrong with meditating as it is a proven, sound practice. There is nothing wrong with listening to God. Most Christians tend to call this action “prayer” rather than “meditation.” Regardless of what the practice is called, it allows us to concentrate on the present moment rather than dwell on the past.
Yoga Mantras for Meditation:
I reflect on the unity of Divine Spirit, which pervades everything in the earth, the atmosphere and heavens.
May this Supreme Consciousness protect me and illuminate my intellect that I may realize my inherent oneness with That.
I meditate on the great luminous light that enlightens all three worlds.
May it enlighten all.
Namaste’
~~ I honor the light in you and in all – used as a greeting and goodbye
Silence is soothing. Silence is peace. Silence is divine.
The more silent you are, the more you can hear yourself think, and the more you can help yourself heal. Somewhere deep inside, you already know this is true. Think for a moment …
Meditation is a method for quieting the chatter of the mind and attaining the inner peace and happiness we all strive for. Meditation calms down the body and the mind, reduces stress and has a healing effect on the body. The most successful meditation is practiced every day.
Meditate in a place where you can be alone. Sit in a comfortable position with your spine erect. You can sit on the floor, on a cushion or on a chair. Before you start to meditate, tell yourself that all thoughts, ideas and plans will have to wait until you finish, and that nothing is going to distract your mind. Strive to stay calm. Ten minutes of meditation as a beginner is plenty. Light a beeswax candle. Focus on your incoming and outgoing breaths. Meditation brings wisdom and inner peace.
We at www.secretserendipity.com believe in the spiritual power of daily meditation.
Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared. ~ Buddha ~
Unlike most everything in life that is shared, happiness can be given to an infinite number of people, and your happiness will not have been diminished by the slightest bit. And you may find that you have even more happiness after you give some away. It’s easy to see how this happens as you already do this in your life.
Every time you cheer someone up, you have lit their candle from yours. Is yours diminished? Only if you choose to allow it to happen. The next time you are feeling cranky, maybe the person trying to talk to you isn’t trying to further annoy you, but to spread a little happiness from the flame of their candle.
Happiness can be like that. It has an amazing tendency to multiply when it is shared.
If you’re looking for an impressive and inexpensive way to add warming light to the rooms of your home, try candles. You can make candle holders and candle lanterns with many items you have at or around your home. Look for objects that are interesting, and use a variety of shapes and sizes to create interest in your rooms. Unusual bowls found at thrift shops make interesting candle holders, decorate around the base with sand, seashells, marbles or anything you may have around the house.
Decorate column candles by wrapping a layer of twigs around the base. Use small dots of glue to hold it in place or secure with a length of raffia or flexible ribbon. Another option is long strips of bark. Fill a glass bowl or vase with rocks and place a candle in the center of the rocks for an elegant but comfortable look. You can replace the rocks with sand for a look geared more toward summer. Choose lace for a romantic look. Begin with clear glass votives and use lace trim for a delicate, finishing touch. Old jewelry used to decorate around the base of your candle adds an extra touch. There is no limit to what you can do with candles.

Frankincense and Myrrh incense and essential oils have been experiencing a resurgence recently, both in New Age practices and those wishing to experience the unity of the divine feminine and the divine masculine.
Frankincense provides profound spiritual benefits, especially the power to focus our spiritual consciousness and help us towards transcendent awareness. It is known to help us to detach from that which doesn’t have deeper spiritual meaning, such as over-attention to materialism, helping the personality better integrate with the Higher Self. Frankincense helps us ground and become centered on the Earth, with tranquility and clarity about our deeper values. Myrrh is known to unite Heaven and Earth in a person, the spiritual with the physical. It is aromatherapy for manifestation of the spiritual in oneself. It helps the Higher Self manifest and transcend the material. Both Frankincense and Myrrh are believed to work therapeutically on the nervous system, to calm the mind and instill tranquility. It is believed to bring peace and inner stillness, with a very earthy aroma.
Frankincense and Myrrh incense are both ideal for meditation, prayer and mental fine-tuning and both have been utilized for these reasons for thousands of years. They are especially in demand during the holiday season.

Holistic Health is a collection of healing techniques that has evolved from traditional medical methods of healing. Holistic health attempts to cure disorders of the mind, body and spirit and promotes wholeness and balance in the individual.
Holistic medicine individualizes its treatments and doesn’t take a one-size-fit-all approach. Holistic medicine can be used exclusively, or it can be combined with traditional methods. It’s an individual choice. Yoga and meditation can be used for stress reduction. Acupuncture may help chronic pain. Holistic health is all about bettering your quality of life.
People in poor health and those who have chronic conditions sometimes like taking charge of their own health. Using alternative treatments gives them this choice. But do not eliminate conventional medicine, but use alternative remedies in conjunction with conventional medicine.
Some examples of holistic medicine are acupuncture, crystal healing, homeopathy, massage, meditations, polarity therapy, psychic healing, therapeutic touch, and reflexology, to name a few. Holistic Health is common among the New Agers (of all ages) but definitely not limited to them. Holistic Healing uses both mental and physical techniques, in harmony. One of the Holistic goals is to help individuals on their path to an advanced spirituality mindset.
“There is no need to search; achievement leads to nowhere. It makes no difference at all, so just be happy now! Love is the only reality of the world, because it is all One, you see. And the only laws are paradox, humor and change. There is no problem, never was, and never will be.
Release your struggle, let go of your mind, throw away your concerns, and relax into the world. No need to resist life, just do your best. Open your eyes and see that you are far more than you imagine. You are the world, you are the universe; you are yourself and everyone else, too! It’s all the marvelous Play of God. Wake up, regain your humor. Don’t worry, just be happy. You are already free!” ― Dan Millman, Way of the Peaceful Warrior: A Book That Changes Lives

People who meditate are much happier and healthier than everyone else. They also have greatly extended life spans. There have been numerous studies showing that meditation dramatically reduces, and even reverses, disease of all types, including cancer.
But the benefits of meditation don’t stop there. Studies also show that experienced meditators who are able to tap into levels of brain function they never thought possible, obtained increased intelligence and moved us closer to answering life’s mysterious questions.
One of the reasons meditators experience greater levels of happiness and health is because meditation significantly increases the brain’s production of several euphoric chemicals, the same chemicals that flow through your bloodstream on those days when you’ve never felt better. Meditation allows these euphoric brain chemicals to be produced constantly. Meditators also sleep much better than those who don’t meditate. Meditation is more powerful than sleep.

Incense can be a very important part of a meditation. Burning of incense helps to create a positive state of mind and helps associate a particular fragrance with a calm, relaxed mental state. Frankincense is the original incense; in fact that’s where the word “incense” comes from. The effects of burning Frankincense are uplifting, centering and purifying with a warm sweet aroma. It’s one of the best scents for creating a meditative space.
Within today’s busy lifestyle, many of us are looking for relief from the stress and calamity of our hectic lives, and such relief can be found through meditation with incense. A favorite is the scent of sandalwood, as it promotes relaxation, openness, and grounding. Its special calming effect has been used to treat anxiety and depression, and it acts as a mild sedative. A quartz crystal may be held or worn during meditation in order to absorb its properties while it cleanses and purifies thoughts and emotions. Just like a candle brightens up the darkness, burning incense can bring tranquility to the senses. This process is called aromatherapy.

Sit in a comfortable position Start to imagine that your body is slowly filling with light, starting from the feet and slowly moving upwards As the light is moving up your body —– feel that this light is relaxing the muscles and your mind.
Now imagine that any areas of disease or pain in your body is surrounded by a dark shadow which represents the unhealthy area.
I feel the light moving upwards until my entire body is filled with light and every muscle of my body is feeling relaxed. Now feel that your body of light is radiating the light out from your eyes, the light is shining as if a torch is shinning out from your eyes.
Now feel that you are directing the light towards any area of the body that is giving you pain or discomfort, represented as a shadow on your body.
Feel that you are sending extra light to this area that is in pain or discomfort. Imagine that the diseased or painful areas have dark shadows surrounding it.
Now feel that you are shinning a loving healing light to the diseased or painful areas so that the darkness is removed.
I radiate my shining light to my body and fill my bodies with this warm healing light.
I now radiate this healing light to the world.
I begin to feel that this healing light is returning me to health and vitality
New Age followers have strong beliefs in a person’s Aura. The Aura is an energy field radiated by the body, and those tuned into this energy are able to see it clearly. It appears as a shimmering, multi-colored field, radiating from the heart or the head, while surrounding the body. A person skilled in the practice of the Metaphysical can interpret a person’s state of mind and their spiritual and personal health by observing their Aura.
Auras expand and retract throughout the day as a reaction to what the environment or people in the environment are sending out. For example, if you are around those you are comfortable with your aura will be a bit larger because you feel more comfortable sending out your energy. However, if you are in a hostile or unfamiliar surrounding you may contract your aura as a form of protection. Similarly if you are tired your aura will contract and become muted or muddy, but if you are rested it should be relatively vibrant and expansive (provided you rested well).
Aura Guided Meditation
Here are the four steps to the aura meditation practice that fosters healing:
Breathe deeply and slowly at first, sensing the presence of the bio energy “life force” within you.
Feel this energy flowing through you and imagine that it’s cleansing you.
Visualize this energy within your body radiating more and more. See if you can see/sense the color of the energy.
While visualizing the energy (and color if possible), direct this nourishing energy to the area of the body that needs healing (e.g. areas of the body where pain resides, or feel weak).
Spend 3-5 minutes per step.
There is so much we don’t understand about Auras. Follow us at www.secretserendipity.com on our journey of discovery.
Lavender is one of history’s most celebrated and versatile scents. The Romans used lavender in their baths for washing, for its healing and antiseptic qualities, and to deter insects. The Egyptians used lavender as an ingredient in incense and perfume. Queen Elizabeth I used lavender as a tea to treat her frequent migraines. Today we use lavender as a tea, to dress wounds, to induce sleep, ease depression, and reduce stress. The holistic properties of lavender are said to assist in alleviating tension and insomnia, easing digestive upsets and calming coughs.
When used in a warm bath, lavender relaxes tension. Add a handful of lavender blossoms or lavender salts to a warm bath just before bedtime and you should have a peaceful night’s rest. Used in a tea, lavender works as a sedative, to further help with a calming, relaxing sleep.
Lavender essential oil is one of the most popular essential oils. It is steam distilled from a perennial shrub with a flowery top. Using diluted lavender essential oil during a massage relieves aching muscles. Also try lavender essential oil as a help with relaxation during meditations. Place a few drops of lavender essential oil on a cotton ball and notice how the light smell soothes and relaxes the mind and body.
To consciously enlighten oneself is the grandest way possible to know our truth. Knowing oneself within the Lotus of our Heart, is the ultimate self-revelation. Self Enlightenment is the ultimate goal of many metaphysical and spiritual practices. This increased level of consciousness is one that plenty of people strive for, but few attain. Achieving a true state of enlightenment is not a path for the weak of heart. You must be open to your true self, both who you are and who you would like to be. The path to self-enlightenment can be as important as the destination.
It might take a lifetime of practice, discipline and study to even come close to attaining enlightenment. It might also be possible to make oneself more aware of our true self by the discipline of good meditation and awareness of the life around us. Relaxation of mind and body is extremely necessary to start your awareness journey.
Those that have already reached self-enlightenment understand their strengths, weaknesses, fears, motivations, limitations and desires more clearly. If you are able to achieve this, you will have a new-found wisdom of self, while enjoying an inner peace about ones place in the physical and spiritual realms.
Spiritual seekers of enlightenment are in pursuit of inspiration, illumination and a feeling of oneness with each other in our universe. They seek vision from a vantage point of Oneness. The pursuit of self-enlightenment is the greatest service one can do for mankind, for our families, and for oneself. Only through illumination can we know self with certainty, and become the true expression of who we really are. If you go deep within your heart, you will find this self-enlightenment peace that we all seek. It is simply a matter of discovery, healing and joy. The closer you get to your self enlightenment, releasing negative and self-limiting thoughts becomes much easier.
Enlightenment is about finding our one true self. This results in extremely beneficial transformation in your life and in our world. The Candle has been used for healing, in different religion ceremonies and for metaphysical purposes for about as long as fire has been around. On physical levels, it represents the eternal light of the soul and the connection to our core being. Fire operates in all aspects of life, from volcanic fires to the fires of intellect, fire’s presence is felt nearly everywhere. When we use the fires of candles, we are participating in the ritual of fire that has existed throughout the ages.
Candle meditation is practiced as you would imagine by focusing on the flame of a candle. It can be done as a warm up for your regular meditation, or it can be your entire meditation regimen. You can achieve candle meditation by taking a lit candle, sit in front of it and stare at the flame. You will begin to think of everyday items, and things that are on your “to do” list. Eventually those thoughts will fade, and you will be left with your free mind. As you focus on the candle flame, your concentration skills will become stronger, and you will be open to explore your journey of Self Enlightenment.
Scented Candles
Scented candles are said to have a calming effect. They improve a person’s mood as the essential oils in them brings about that effect. It is known that stress is a factor in many diseases so the calming properties of some scents can be good for a person’s health. The glow of the candle is comforting and its warmth creates a cozy atmosphere.
Many candles have a mixture of scents so that the benefits are multiplied. The curative powers of aromatic scents have been known for centuries. We prefer a beeswax candle for it’s purity and clarity, and coupling that with the burning of incense for a perfect ambiance for meditation.
Follow us at www.secretserendipity.com for the selection of candles we prefer along with incense and essential oils in different fragrances to help complete the perfect meditation. Check out our breakdown of scents and their meanings.
