Thanksgiving Day History —

Thanksgiving Day History: Thanksgiving is a day to spend some time with the people we care about, and to think about what it is that has made us the way we are today. It is a time of year to be thankful for everything we have. There’s something about the warm, coziness of being home with family for the holidays that lifts everyone’s spirit. Thanksgiving is a day filled with the sound of a crackling fire and the smell of a turkey roasting in the oven. But how did it all come about?

Thanksgiving Day of today is the celebration of the Pilgrim’s meal with the Native Americans on the fourth Thursday of November. It commemorates how newcomers were first welcomed by celebrating the harvest with their Native American neighbors. Originally, it was traditionally celebrated on the last Thursday of November in the early 1800’s, but left up to the individual states to decide when each would celebrate.

Thanksgiving Day History

Sarah Josepha Hale is a writer known for campaigning for an official date for 40 years through letters to political leaders to get this holiday recognized.  Finally in 1863, President Lincoln issued a proclamation that all states will celebrate Thanksgiving on the same day. This act was an effort to unite the North and the South, but due to the rebellion of the North’s authority, the holiday was not consistently celebrated on the same day until after Reconstruction.

A joint resolution was signed by Congress and President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1941 to change the holiday to the fourth Thursday of November rather than the last, believing the earlier economic boost to be beneficial to the United States economy.

Thanksgiving Day History – Canada

Canada’s Thanksgiving is very similar to the American celebration, marking the successful harvest of French settlers in modern-day Canada. This celebration takes place in October when the weather is warmer. In 1957, Parliament moved it from November 6 to October, declaring, “A Day of General Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed—to be observed on the 2nd Monday in October.” Feasting on turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn are common the weekend before. Vacations and parades are also traditional.

Thanksgiving Day History – Germany

Germany celebrates the Harvest Thanksgiving Festival in October, which, like American celebrations, consists of feasting and religious traditions. Their Thanksgiving takes place on the first Sunday of October. Erntedankfest is essentially a harvest festival that gives thanks for a good year and good fortune.

The Japanese observe Labor Thanksgiving Day, which has roots with harvest celebrations but now celebrates labor, production, and thankfulness. Derived from ancient harvest festival rituals named Niinamesai, its modern meaning is more tied to a celebration of hard work and community involvement, hence its translation: Labor Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving Day History – Africa

A variation on America’s Thanksgiving can be found in the West African nation of Liberia, which was founded in the 19th century by freed slaves from the U.S.  Mainly celebrated by Christians, Liberians take the concept of the cornucopia and fill their churches with baskets of local fruits like bananas, papayas, mangoes, and pineapples. An auction for these is held after the service, and then families retreat to their homes to feast.

The Netherlands observes a Thanksgiving Day service to honor the Pilgrims that lived in Leiden before continuing on to Plymouth. The people of Leiden still celebrate the American settlers who once lived there with a non-denominational church service on the fourth Thursday of November. Afterwards, there’s no turkey, but cookies and coffee are offered.

Thanksgiving Day in the United States is a holiday on the fourth Thursday of November. It is a day for families and friends to get together for a special meal. On this day, people express gratitude and thankfulness to God for his blessings and pay their thanks to dear ones for their immense love & support in their life.

Thanksgiving Day History – Food

The American tradition is highlighted by the Thanksgiving meal. Turkey is the most common main dish of a Thanksgiving dinner. Ham is often served alongside turkey in many non-traditional households. Delicious, classic recipes are always in style for a Thanksgiving feast. America’s favorite classic side dishes for Thanksgiving are mashed sweet or white potatoes and gravy, stuffing, corn muffins, cranberry sauce, and either a green bean, corn or Brussels sprouts casserole. Desserts include: pumpkin, apple or pecan pie.

Prayer of Thanksgiving!

Thank you, Father, for having created us and given us to each other in the human family. Thank you for being with us in all our joys and sorrows, for your comfort in our sadness, your companionship in our loneliness. Thank you for yesterday, today, tomorrow and for the whole of our lives. Thank you for friends, for health and for grace. May we live this and every day conscious of all that has been given to us.

Create a Gratitude Tree!

A gratitude tree is a fun way to share what Thanksgiving means to each person. You can free-cut the shape of a tree with lots of branches from a brown 12″x12″ sheet of paper, then tape it to your dining room wall or attach it to the refrigerator. Cut out leaf shapes from various fall shades of paper. Let each family member write something for which they are thankful on a leaf and attach to the tree with tape.

Thanksgiving Day History – The Centerpiece

A variation could be a Thanksgiving Centerpiece. Cut a branch or two from the yard and put in a vase. Cut leaves from colored construction paper and put a string on each one. Each person takes a leaf or two and writes their name and date on one side and what they are thankful for on the other side, then hang them on the branch that would be in the vase in the center of the table. Leaves can be carried over from year to year as new ones are added. If your celebration includes many, you might want to have a side table for the tree, with cut greens from the yard, pine cones, and a few Christmas ornaments around the bottom.

Thanksgiving is the Day for giving Thanks. Here is a list of our Top 15 Reasons for which we are Thankful!

1) Freedom Despite frustration with politics. I’m thankful to be living in the U.S. I’m very thankful for the men and women — and their families — serving in our military.

2) Friends and family. I’m thankful for new relationships and connections this past year — both online and right here at home. Of course, I love my long-time friendships as well.

story time with grandpa

3) Healthy Children. Children from families who eat together on a regular basis are more likely to have family support, positive peer influences, and positive role models. The world of tomorrow will inherit the children of today.

4) Nature. I’m thankful for the beautiful world around me — for the changing seasons, the brilliant colors, the promise of coming spring.

5) Finding money in your pocket. Money that hasn’t been budgeted for, remembered, or owed. It is disposable income in the truest sense of the phrase.

6) A pet. Having a pet helps you stay connected to life. They are great companions and the perfect best friend. They are always around when you need them and provide constant and loving companionship. They ask for very little in return, they just want to be where you are.

7) Your health, even on days when it isn’t perfect. Being healthy means that your body is functioning as it should, without pain or discomfort. When we are in good health, we can enjoy all the good things in life, in moderation, without guilt or shame.

8) Your support system. It can be people at work, at home or spread out all over the country. Knowing there are people who are there for you can make all the difference. They are people who will lift you up and give you whatever you need with only a moment’s notice.

9) The healing power of music. Music has the power to heal and to join people together in peace. The spirit of music is within us all. Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.

10) Laughter. It makes us happy and healthy. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded. Nothing diffuses anger and conflict faster than a shared laugh.

11) Desserts. To live without them is to live in a colorless world. Eating desserts means that you have a good sense of what you want. We feel like we are feeding our soul with food that makes us feel like we’ve finally found Heaven. Desserts make life more enjoyable.

12) Police Officers, Firefighters, and all First Responders. These brave men and women risk their lives daily to save the lives of others. They work long and crazy hours around the clock, and rush to scenes helping complete strangers without thinking twice. They put themselves on the front line of dangerous and traumatic events every day.

13) Love. Love is accepting difference. It is letting each one be who they are without fear of censure. Love is an unselfish, loyal concern for the good of another. It is a wonderful feeling.

14) Good food and Clean Water. Good food gives us the energy we need to survive. Fresh water is one of our most vital resources. The quality of our water is directly linked to the quality of our lives. Without good food and clean water, the body cannot grow or perform at its best, our organs stop working, and the body eventually dies. We are blessed to have the best of both.

15) Money. Money is great because it means that life is not a constant effort at keeping our heads above water. When we have money, we are able to live life to the fullest, enjoy adventures, and make the most out of life.

December 26, 2019 - New Moon in Capricorn

December 26, 2019 – New Moon in Capricorn

Posted on October 1, 2019January 6, 2020 by Lunar Princess

During the phase of a New Moon, the lunar disk is almost completely invisible to the naked eye until daybreak when it will appear as a tiny little crescent, which will get bigger and bigger, day by day.

Energy of a New Moon!

The New Moon has the energy to cause change to the human body and our mental health. This happens as the Moon’s energy has the power to control the ebbs and flows of the ocean and can even impact human behaviors. We’re mostly made of water so it’s no surprise that we are also affected by the gravitational pull of the Moon. This is why, in Astronomy, the energy of the New Moon is regarded as such a highly-influential force. The energy of the New Moon helps people grow spiritually as they seek out the Moon’s healing energy. This New Moon phase represents a fresh start for those who welcome it as an opportunity to celebrate new beginnings, to embark on life transitions, and to obtain spiritual healing from this Moon’s massive positive energy.

December 26, 2019 – New Moon in Capricorn – Finding Balance in Nature!

A Capricorn New Moon has us appreciating all the good in the world, and the importance of staying close to Nature, which is an epic challenge in today’s world. If you’re overwhelmed, go out into the forest, or lie in the park, on a nice blanket on the ground. Try earthing, which is basically going barefoot. You find balance when you listen to your body and follow your instincts about what is authentic. Being an earth sign Moon, we have intense feelings for physical contact, so seek out a friend and try to unwind and enjoy this Moon.

December 26, 2019 – New Moon in Capricorn – Refresh Your Dreams!

This New Moon in Capricorn marks the start of a new Lunar cycle, as well as the start of a new personal cycle. The Moon will be located on the same side of the Earth as the Sun and will not be visible in the night sky until daybreak, when it will appear as a tiny little crescent. This is the best time of the month to observe faint objects such as galaxies and star clusters because there is no moonlight to interfere. The Moon is so powerful, it is responsible for moving oceans, the ocean tides and for the growth of plants, and we as humans are also affected by this powerful energy. The meaning of a New Moon is the opportunity to start anew and refresh your dreams and desires. Meditate in the quiet darkness of the New Moon on all you hope to accomplish. As it’s also the day after a major holiday for many, Christmas, today is a day for rest.

Set Your Intentions!

Both the Moon and Sun are in the same Zodiac sign during a New Moon… giving an exponential boost or concentration of their energy. During a Capricorn New Moon, you are happiest with a dream in the process since you are not likely to enjoy idle time. For whatever path you’re on, opening to working with planetary energies links you to the power of the Divine. The New Moon is an important time to analyze where you want to be, going forward. This particular Moon gives you the perfect opportunity to set your intentions for the month, to start anew with fresh goals in mind, and to have a ceremony or ritual that wipes the slate clean.

December 26, 2019 – New Moon in Capricorn – Wishes and Dreams Can Happen!

A Ritual for the New Moon:

For a powerful New Moon Ritual, start by lighting the end of a sage wand and blow on it until there is a smoldering glow. Use it around your own body, and in the space of your ritual. Smudging brings clarity and peace.

Start a few days before the New Moon.

Write down all of your wishes, dreams, intentions, and desires. Be as specific as you can.

On the night of the New Moon, read your list aloud. You can go outside beneath the sky or you can light a candle inside in offering.

Give thanks to the Universe for hearing your truth.

A big part of success with new Moon intentions is what comes after. Find ways to keep your wishes in the front of your awareness.

Read your list as often as you can until the night of the New Moon and then release the energy in sacred fire of your candle.

Some people choose to journal their list and keep it instead of burning it. Do the practice whichever way you feel comfortable.

December 2019 Astrological Events

Posted on September 29, 2019January 6, 2020 by Lunar Princess

December 2019 Astrological Events – December brings a new vibration and a chance to bring closure and resolution to the year 2019. Under this energy, we are going to be encouraged to go with the flow and to attune ourselves to the rhythm of Mother Earth.

Joining of Mercury (Scorpio) and Pluto (Capricorn) — A Time for Opportunities!

December 3 – Mercury (Scorpio) sextile Pluto (Capricorn). This joining shows us the cooperation between two planets which leads to opportunities in our life. It has a positive blending effect on the planets. Sextiles are considered “soft” or “easy” aspects that reflect the planets involved. Mercury rules the reasoning and conscious mind that forms conclusions. Mercury is intellectual, enjoys learning, teaches and is communicative. Pluto rules transformation through destruction, only to end up in reconstruction. This sextile will infuse each zodiac sign with the desire to surrender to whatever is happening in our lives, knowing that we don’t need to fight so hard for what is meant for us.

December 2019 Astrological Events -A Full Cold Moon in Capricorn!

December 12 – Full Moon in Capricorn. The Moon will be located on the opposite side of the Earth as the Sun and its face will be fully illuminated. This Full Moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Cold Moon because this is the time of year when the cold winter air settles in and the nights become long and dark. This Moon has also been known as the Full Long Nights Moon and the Moon Before Yule. There will be a lot of emotional insight that will be happening in the next few days—get ready now. Embrace the power of the twins, as the Moon harnesses their power, with a Full Moon Meditation of self-love and acceptance.

Geminids Meteor Shower — Brings Hope!

December 13, 14 – Geminids Meteor Shower. The Geminids is the king of the meteor showers. It is considered by many to be the best shower in the heavens, producing up to 120 multicolored meteors per hour at its peak. It is produced by debris left behind by an asteroid known as 3200 Phaethon, which was discovered in 1982. The shower runs annually from December 7-17. It peaks this year on the night of the 13th and morning of the 14th. Unfortunately, the nearly Full Moon will block out many of the meteors this year, but the Geminids are so bright and numerous that it could still be a good show. Best viewing will be from a dark location after midnight. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Gemini, but can appear anywhere in the sky. What better way to meditate on your place in the Universe than to actually spend an evening with the Universe? Prepare your heart for shooting stars, because the Geminid meteor shower will be all the hope you need for a bright future.

December 2019 Astrological Events – Venus enters Aquarius — Let You Be You!

December 20 – Venus enters Aquarius. Venus in Aquarius is anything but traditional. In Aquarius, the Goddess of Love is rebellious, eccentric, and open-minded with her desires, values, and relationships. When Venus is in Aquarius, we are naturally prone to detaching from our emotions, and instead surrounding ourselves with like-minded individuals, and intellectually-stimulating partners. Impromptu attractions, “friends with benefits,” and all forms of free love, are welcome. This is your chance to march to the beat of your own drum.

Ursids Meteor Shower — Our Connection with Mother Nature!

December 21, 22 – Ursids Meteor Shower. The Ursids is a minor meteor shower producing about 5-10 meteors per hour. It is produced by dust grains left behind by comet Tuttle, which was first discovered in 1790. The shower runs annually from December 17 – 25. It peaks this year on the the night of the 21st and morning of the 22nd. The Waning Crescent Moon should not interfere too much this year. Skies should still be dark enough for what could be a good show. Best viewing will be just after midnight from a dark location far away from city lights. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Ursa Minor, but can appear anywhere in the sky. Taking place just before the end of the year, this is your chance to make a real wish for the year to come. Trust that the Universe is laying down the groundwork for a major transformation. Be aware of the innate connection we as human beings have with Mother Nature!

December Solstice, Winter Solstice — A Time of Acceptance!

December 22 – December Solstice, also called the Winter Solstice. The South Pole of the earth will be tilted toward the Sun, which will have reached its southernmost position in the sky and will be directly over the Tropic of Capricorn at 23.44 degrees south latitude. This is the first day of winter (winter solstice) in the Northern Hemisphere and the first day of summer (summer solstice) in the Southern Hemisphere. The December (or Winter) Solstice helps us to understand that in life, we often have to accept the darkness, whether it be darkness within ourselves, friends, family or just the world in general. We have to accept it but we always hold onto the hope that one way or another the light will shine once again.

December 2019 Astrological Events – A New Moon of Powerful Energy!

December 26 – New Moon. The Moon will located on the same side of the Earth as the Sun and will not be visible in the night sky.

Annular Solar Eclipse — The Ring of Light!

December 26 – Annular Solar Eclipse. An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon is too far away from the Earth to completely cover the Sun. This results in a ring of light around the darkened Moon. The Sun’s corona is not visible during an annular eclipse. The path of of the eclipse will begin in Saudi Arabia and move east through southern India, northern Sri Lanka, parts of the Indian Ocean, and Indonesia before ending in the Pacific Ocean. A partial eclipse will be visible throughout most of Asia and northern Australia. This Solar Eclipse provokes changes that are more external, when events outside of us might get in the way of what we want and the path we must take to get it. It forces us to find a different route to our goals.

Moon and Venus Conjunction — A Time of Good Will for All!

December 29 – Moon and Venus Conjunction. This conjunction is a good omen for your social life and your love life. This conjunction manifests itself especially by very deep and intense feelings, which are very long-lasting. Venus rules our sentiments, what we value, and the pleasure we take in life. Grace, charm, and beauty are all ruled by Venus. Through Venus, we learn about our tastes, pleasures, artistic inclinations, and what makes us happy. Transiting Moon Conjunct Venus brings peace and harmony to your life. You will feel emotional, caring and loving. Take advantage of all the good will that will come your way during this conjunction.

Halloween – Its Mystery and Magic!

Posted on October 3, 2019November 1, 2019 by Lunar Princess

Halloween is a holiday of many mysterious customs.  Children roaming from door to door demanding treats can be traced to the Celtic period and the first few centuries of the Christian era, when it was thought that the souls of the dead were out and around, along with fairies, witches, and demons. Offerings of food and drink were left out to placate them.

History of the Jac-O’-Lantern!

The history of the Jack-o’-lantern began in the 18th century with Irish families. They began to put carved-out turnips and other vegetables in their windows, with a hot lump of coal inside to light it up, as a means of preventing a foul-mouthed drunk from the village, Stingy Jack, and other ghouls from entering their homes.  Most had scary faces carved into them to frighten away any comers.

How the Pumpkin Came to Be!

Once the tradition hit the United States, Irish immigrants soon realized that the pumpkin, native to the states, was an ideal fruit for carving.  When European settlers arrived in America, they found that our American pumpkin varieties were well suited to being carved as Jack’s lantern.

Halloween is a Celebration!

Our American pumpkin was found to be large in size, have upright strong walls, and a large hollow cavity… Just what they were looking for. This Halloween pumpkin is hollowed out and cut in order to create a grimacing face and is lit from the inside with a small candle, replacing the burning lump of coal. There was a movement in the late 1800’s to turn Halloween into a celebration emphasizing community and neighborhood activities and parties. This is the Halloween we celebrate today.

Mystery, Magic and Superstition!

Halloween is filled with mystery, magic and superstition. Halloween ghosts and goblins are often depicted as extremely fearsome and scary.  But what about our dreams?  The shadowy ghosts in our dreams represent those aspects that we fear.  This is especially true if there are black cats in the dream, and if we avoid crossing paths with them as we fear that they will bring us bad luck.  To dream of Halloween signifies death and the underworld.  This usually doesn’t mean the death of a person, but a death of an idea or a plan.  Seeing yourself walking through a graveyard on Halloween in a dream might mean that you are reminiscing about a dead loved one or that you are feeling lonely and isolated.

Halloween Dreams!

A Halloween dream also represents the adoption of a new persona where we feel less inhibited and more comfortable to freely express who we are.  It is the end of constraint in who we thought we were and the beginning of a new freedom within ourselves.  There are many different energies that make up our psyche and we must accept them all as valid parts of who we are.

Halloween is a Time of Excitement!

Halloween is the celebration of our imagination and willingness to suspend our belief and dance with our neighbors and friends. Halloween is one of the greatest holidays because almost everyone can participate in it. When it comes to donning Halloween gear, there’s a sense of community, of people who all just want to get dressed up in something silly or scary. It is a great time to use your imagination to don a costume that is unique and innovative. It’s our annual chance to live a fantastical existence. Whatever we want to be, we can put on a costume and be it. But for the most part, nothing beats seeing kids all dressed up and excited to go door to door in search of treats. There’s a crisp in the air and a feeling of happiness that peaks on Halloween. Idealistic maybe, but it’s why we will always love the day.

December 12, 2019 – Full Cold Moon!

Posted on September 5, 2019December 19, 2023 by Lunar Princess

December’s Full Moon is Called the Full Cold Moon, Strawberry Moon, Honey Moon, Rose Moon, Long Night Moon, and the Moon Before Yule!

December 12, 2019 – Full Cold Moon further reading: Farmer’s Almanac on the Full Cold Moon

When is the next Full Moon?

December 12, 2019 - Full Cold Moon

In Native American cultures, which tracked the calendar by the Moons, December’s Full Moon is known as the Full Cold Moon. December is the month when winter truly begins in most of the Northern Hemisphere. Most of the ancient Full Moon names are related to the low temperatures and darkness of December. It is fittingly associated with the month when the winter cold fastens its grip and the nights become long and dark. This Full Moon is a reminder that our possibilities are endless, and that there are always opportunities waiting for us on the other side of the horizon. Always Remember: You hold the key to your success!

December 12, 2019 Full Cold Moon – Pink Light and Loving Kindness!

December 12, 2019 - Full Cold Moon

During a Full Moon, the Moon is 100% illuminated as seen from Earth and is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun. The Moon will be visible throughout the night sky rising at sunset in the east and setting with the sunrise the next morning. The Moon appears full to the eye for two to three nights. However, astronomers regard the Moon as Full at a precisely defined instant — when the Moon is exactly 180 degrees opposite the Sun. Since you have this Full Moon power behind you, send healing energy, forgiveness, pink light and loving-kindness to friends, family, colleagues, and strangers. In addition, send peaceful energy to the places in the world experiencing strife, hardship, poverty and war.

December 12, 2019 Full Cold Moon – Reach out to Others at this Time!

December 12, 2019 - Full Cold Moon

In North America, this Moon is referred to as the Full Cold Moon because it coincides with the winter solstice. It is associated with the time in which days grow colder and nights become much longer. The Full Moon will also share the sky with the annual Ursid meteor shower. The Ursids are named after the constellation Ursa Major, where they appear to originate. When it’s cold outside, open your heart and home to friends and family. Reach out to people who might be suffering from the chill of winter, either spiritually or physically

Also Called the Strawberry Moon, Honey Moon and Rose Moon!

December 12, 2019 - Full Cold Moon

In the Southern Hemisphere, where it’s summer during December, names for this Full Moon include Strawberry Moon, Honey Moon and Rose Moon. This December Full Moon gives us the perfect time to forgive and let go. Spend time visualizing forgiving anyone whom you hold any resentment or grudges against. Go through each person in turn and forgive and release the negative feelings.

December 12, 2019 Full Cold Moon – A Time to Heal and Relax!

December 12, 2019 - Full Cold Moon

The Long Night Moon gets its name because the Full Moon in December occurs near the Solstice, which has the longest night of the year. This is a time of rest. As the night is long and the days are short it becomes a time of self healing and rejuvenation. As mother Earth has tucked herself in, so should you. It is perfectly fine to allow yourself the time to heal and relax that is necessary for good health. Now is the perfect time for spiritual awareness — time to evaluate your life, and know that you’ll survive the dark times. It is the time to get rid of that excess baggage you’ve been toting around.

December 12, 2019 Full Cold Moon – The Moon Before Yule!

Yule Log

Europeans call the December Full Moon the Moon before Yule. Yule is an old northern European winter festival that is now associated with Christmas. This is a season of adaptation and change. In many magical traditions, and certainly owing to its proximity to Yule and Christmas, this is also a time of sharing one’s blessings with those less fortunate. Many customs created around Yule are identified with Christmas today.

Dried Yule Log

If you decorate your home with a Yule tree, holly or candles, you are following some of these old traditions. A dried Yule log, (usually made from a piece of wood saved from the previous year) is burned in the fire to symbolize the Newborn Sun/Son. Many displayed symbols of Yule are very prominent today. Some displayed are the original Yule Log, or small Yule Log with 3 candles, evergreen boughs or wreaths, holly, mistletoe hung in doorways, gold pillar candles, baskets of clove studded fruit, a simmering pot of wassail (also known as Hot Apple Cider), and bright red poinsettias.

December’s Full Cold Moon – Spiritual Meaning!

December 12, 2019 - Full Cold Moon

This Full Cold Moon of December is happening in the Zodiac sign of Gemini. Gemini is an Air sign and is symbolized by the twins and ruled by Mercury. As this Moon moves through Gemini, regardless of how we normally feel, we may be a little bit more scattered during this transition. Take quiet time for clear thinking. This is a Moon loaded with vibrations of change. It is worth keeping in mind that part of growing as a person requires you to accept that life is constantly changing. Embrace these changes as they will be positive ones. This is a fantastically-beautiful Full Moon. We are tempted to be spellbound by it. But we are also tempted to be wary, as sometimes things are not as they appear to be.

The Full Cold Moon of December is special, as it has a high Karma quotient to it. Creating good Karma is as simple as trying your best to be a good person, and to treat others with kindness. This is also the time of year for wrapping up loose ends, finishing up a project, or turning inwards. Clear communication must be highlighted here in dealing with others. Examine the ways in which you communicate to others and make some positive changes. Put out your best effort and true self into the world, and the Universe will send you experiences and people to match your energy.

December 12, 2019 Full Cold Moon – It’s a Time for Hot Apple Cider!

Hot Cider

Nothing beats a mug of hot apple cider on a cold winter’s day. In these more brisk months, there’s nothing better than wrapping your hands around a hot mug of apple cider. Just the fragrance is enough to lull anyone in from the cold and calm the senses for a while. Apple cider is perfect for gatherings with friends, family dinners, Christmas parties… pretty much anywhere where a large group of people plan on getting together. If you’re the one hosting the party, it makes your house smell like an old school cider house — better than any holiday candle can.

Instructions:

What we do: Grab an orange. Stick some cloves in it. Throw it in your Crock Pot along with a few cinnamon sticks and a gallon of apple cider. Turn it on. Wait four hours. Serve. *Option 1 – Thinly slice or chop up some McIntosh apples including the peel, into small pieces and drop a small bunch of the apple pieces into each cup of hot cider just before serving. This makes a wonderful addition to this recipe. *Option 2 – Add one and one-half cups of bourbon, whiskey or rum when ready to serve. (Adding it too soon will burn out the alcohol.) Also briskly whisk in a pat of butter right before serving. It gives the cider a rich, frothy top and smooths out the flavors. Makes about sixteen 8 oz. Drinks.

True of fire signs, you’re at the forefront of change. This New Moon cycle represents an opportunity to rid us of the ‘junk’ in our lives — material and spiritual. We have the chance to make important changes in our lives, as we are learning to dig deeper into the mysteries around us instead of always being content with the status quo. This is also the time when we feel the need to pick on different things they do, and criticize them to initiate change. Furthermore, with the New Moon high in the night sky, contradictions, between what we are saying and our actions are going to be rife. Whatever you do during this New Moon, always be kind.

November 26, 2019 – New Moon in Sagittarius: Novembers New Moon Brings Balance

November 26, 2019 – New Moon in Sagittarius:

Creating balance has definitely been a theme in the Universe over the last few months and this New Moon also adds to this energy. This New Moon will be guiding us to create healthy habits and to balance work and play. While Sagittarius has a cerebral side, the mythical Centaur is a horse from the waist down. So as wise and worldly as Sagittarius energy can be, it can also be rather randy, forever in pursuit of instant gratification and wild adventure.

November 26, 2019 – New Moon in Sagittarius: A White Candle Ritual

November 26, 2019 – New Moon in Sagittarius:

Try a New Moon Ritual using a white candle. It is important to use white because the color white represents clarification, purification, and new beginnings. Make sure you have a private area to perform the ritual where you will feel safe and relaxed. You can perform rituals alone or with a group, but if you are performing one alone, you should have a private area to do this. If you have a private outdoor space, you can do your ritual outside, but inside is perfectly fine. Light your white candle and be prepared. This white candle ritual starts with open-eyed meditation, allowing the flame to woo you into peacefulness.

Clearing Your Mind

November 26, 2019 – New Moon in Sagittarius:

Read your intentions of what you need, out loud to the Universe. With each intention that you speak, end your sentence saying “This or more.” Request the assistance of the New Moon to help you bring what it is that you want into your life. Within the stillness, begin releasing any known and unknown blocks, clearing your mind of psychic debris to make space for receiving creative solutions. Then remain still and LISTEN. There is something about focusing on the dance of the flame of a white candle that is mesmerizing. Does the flame seem to split or flicker a certain way? Does its light cast a specific silhouette? Pay attention and journal your observations of those details… and enjoy the moment.

November 2019 Astrological Events: November brings a Full Moon in Taurus, Meteor Showers, Transits, and a time for Peace and Tranquility.

Thanksgiving Affirmations

November 2019 – Astrological Events

The name November derives from Latin for ‘ninth month,’ which is also known as “Novembris mensis.” Representing the spiritual warrior, this month also acts as a mirror, reflecting the truth which says that the real battle lies within us. Now will be the time to stay mindful and concentrate on the right actions and correct conduct. We can also use the energy offered to us in November, to help us co-create the life which we truly want to live. Every one of us can use the energy of November to bring in more love, gratitude, as well as abundance – all we have to do is start focusing our attention on what we really want, instead of on what we do not want.

Venus Enters Sagittarius – A Sense of Adventure

November 2019 – Astrological Events

November 1 – Venus enters Sagittarius. This is a Transit that attracts more – you want more and you can get more. There’s a sense of adventure – who knows what might happen and isn’t that the point? This is the time to keep your eyes open and consider what might usually be “impossible.” Take a second look at the romantic prospect of who is not your type, or the source of income that’s unusual and exotic, or the situation that’s a bit outside your comfort zone but still appealing.

November 2019 Astrological Events: Taurids Meteor Shower

November 5-6 – Taurids Meteor Shower. The Taurids is a long-running minor meteor shower producing only about 5-10 meteors per hour. It is unusual in that it consists of two separate streams. The first is produced by dust grains left behind by Asteroid 2004 TG10. The second stream is produced by debris left behind by Comet 2P Encke. The First Quarter Moon will set shortly after midnight leaving dark skies for viewing. Best viewing will be just after midnight from a dark location far away from city lights. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Taurus, but can appear anywhere in the sky.

November 2019 Astrological Events: Transit – Structure and Realism

November 2019 – Astrological Events

November 8 – Saturn (Capricorn) Sextile Neptune (Pisces). These planets work well when Saturn provides the structure and realism to the dreams of Neptune. It also makes one sensible about future plans and gives you the ability to defer gratification for a later date. During this transit you find the patience to see a project through to the very end, no matter what obstacles fall in your path. Patience is probably one of its biggest gifts.

Transit of Mercury – A Time for Correction

November 2019 – Astrological Events

November 11 – Rare Transit of Mercury Across the Sun. The planet Mercury will move directly between the Earth and the Sun. This is an extremely rare event that occurs only once every few years. The next transit of Mercury will not take place until 2039. This transit will be visible throughout all of South America and Central America, and parts of North America, Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The best place to view this event in its entirety will be the eastern United States, Central America, and South America. This Mercury Transit gives us a valuable opportunity to revisit ground covered in the previous few months and correct any decisions or communications that need further attention.

November 2019 Astrological Events: Full Beaver Moon

November 2019 – Astrological Events

November 12 – Full Moon. The Moon will be located on the opposite side of the Earth as the Sun and its face will be fully illuminated. This Full Moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Beaver Moon because this was the time of year to set the beaver traps before the swamps and rivers froze. It has also been known as the Frosty Moon and the Hunter’s Moon. The energy of a Full Moon (influenced by the current Zodiac transit) is heightened and emotions, feelings, mental processes, dreams, etc are all exaggerated. When the Sun and the Moon oppose each other during a Full Moon, this can cause tension and uneasy friction, but at the same time a greater increase in our vision and potential likelihood of good things coming our way. .

November 2019 Astrological Events: Leonids Meteor Shower

November 2019 – Astrological Events

November 17- 18 – Leonids Meteor Shower. The Leonids is an average shower, producing up to 15 meteors per hour at its peak. This shower is unique in that it has a cyclonic peak about every 33 years where hundreds of meteors per hour can be seen. That last of these occurred in 2001. The Leonids is produced by dust grains left behind by comet Tempel-Tuttle, which was discovered in 1865. The shower runs annually from November 6-30. It peaks this year on the night of the 17th and morning of the 18th. The Second Quarter Moon will block many of the fainter meteors this year, but if you are patient you should be able to catch quite a few of the brightest ones. Best viewing will be from a dark location after midnight. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Leo, and can appear anywhere in the sky.

Conjunction of Venus and Jupiter – A Popular Combination

November 24 – Conjunction of Venus and Jupiter. A conjunction of Venus and Jupiter will be visible on November 24. The two bright planets will be visible within 1.4 degrees of each other in the evening sky. Look for this impressive sight in the western sky just after sunset. This aspect stimulates (for better or for worse) a very active social life. If the subject is not hosting lavish parties then they will be going to them. This is a very popular combination where the Venus conjunct Jupiter is super charming.

A New Moon in Sagittarius – Change is Inevitable

November 2019 – Astrological Events

November 26 – New Moon in Sagittarius. Even though it’s very close to being invisible in the sky, a New Moon’s energy brings the start of a new lunar cycle, as well as the beginning of a new personal cycle. More cautious souls might find you reckless but they are not all that surprised by how often luck is on your side. Change is inevitable, but in November, change will be for the better.

November 2019 Astrological Events: Mercury and Old Flames

November 2019 – Astrological Events

November 28 – Mercury at Greatest Western Elongation. The planet Mercury reaches greatest western elongation of 20.1 degrees from the Sun. This is the best time to view Mercury since it will be at its highest point above the horizon in the morning sky. Look for the planet low in the eastern sky just before sunrise. Mercury CAN bring back an old flame, but often it’s for the purpose of closure, not necessarily because this is the “one that got away.” Don’t be surprised if you get a Facebook friend request from someone you dated ages ago or a forgotten childhood friend. Practice forgiveness. Finish processing what is unresolved so you can let it go.

Mercury Sextile Saturn – Brings Strength of Mind

November 2019 – Astrological Events

November 30 – Mercury (Scorpio) Sextile Saturn (Capricorn) Mercury rules the reasoning and conscious mind that forms conclusions. Mercury is intellectual, enjoys learning, teaches and is communicative. Saturn rules stability, responsibility and longevity. Saturn is also disciplined and cautious. Saturn is lasting and will stand the test of time. Saturn rules time. When an astrological event positions these two planets together, during this sextile, you have a very disciplined mind, especially where work and career are concerned. It is the perfect time for making important decisions.

November 12, 2019 – Full Moon – Beaver Moon, Frosty Moon, White Moon, Dark Moon, Trading Moon, Reed Moon.

November 12, 2019 – Full Moon – Beaver Moon- A Full Moon and a “lunar effect” can mean various things to various people. Full Moons amplify our emotions and it is not uncommon to feel a heightened sense of energy, both positive and negative, during this time. The influence of a Full Moon can empower you to step out of your comfort zone and embrace bold changes in your life or step back and reflect on personal issues close to your heart. Here are a few of the names associated with the Full Moon of November.

Farmer’s Almanac on the Beaver Moon

Beaver Moon – A Time of Gratitude

November 12, 2019 - Full Moon - Beaver Moon

The Full Moon for November is named after beavers because this is the time they become particularly active building their winter dams in preparation for the cold season. The beaver is mainly nocturnal, so they keep working under the light of the Full Moon. It is the time when hunters set beaver traps before the swamps freeze to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Beavers make dams of wood and mud. In the middle, they build dome-shaped homes called lodges with underwater entrances. Beavers continue to grow throughout their lives, and so do their teeth. They constantly gnaw on wood, but because the enamel in a beaver’s incisors contains iron, their front teeth never wear down. This month of November, the Full Beaver Moon brings us the message that we are to prepare for the cold winter and not to be caught without spiritual fortification. It is a time to nurture yourself and do things that bring warmth and comfort to your soul. It is an emotional time–a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships. Make sure you take time to thank The Creator, the angels, your guides, and ancestors for all of their help bringing you through this year and to be there to help and guide you in the new year.

Frosty Moon Brings the Chill of Winter – November 12, 2019 – Full Moon – Beaver Moon

November 12, 2019 - Full Moon - Beaver Moon

The silvery lunar glow of this Full Moon looks especially cold at this time of year, as the warmth of early autumn begins to give way to the chill of winter. It’s easy to envision the Moon’s power in these and many other cultures on long, chilly nights, when the Full Moon of November casts its “frosty” light on the landscape — all night long. The Frosty Moon comes in autumn. The Summer has gone, the nights are frosty and the days are cool. The leaves are falling from the trees and the snow is on its way. The Full Moon of November is large in the sky, and is often called the Frosty Moon. The “spiritual winter” seeks to give us rest, let things that need to die do so, and offers the hope of new growth. If we slow down and let it do its job, then winter becomes something that we can treasure and not just make it through. Winter time is a season when the old is washed away and shortly after, renewal begins. It is a beautiful time of year when we think about it from that perspective.

White Moon and Chinese Goddess Chang-e — Personal Growth

November 12, 2019 - Full Moon - Beaver Moon

Chinese mythology claims that Ch’ang-O also called Chang’e is the Chinese Goddess of the Full White Moon. She does not personify the Moon like other Moon goddesses. She lives on the Moon and is called the “Woman on the Moon.” On this day she inspires devotion in all relationships and sends energy for growth and manifestation in all life areas. This is a day for women to ask the Moon goddess Ch’ang-O to bless them with good fortune for the coming year. Ch’ang-O is associated with courage, power and fertility. You can call upon her for bravery and to break free of the ties that bind. Ask her for help with personal growth, manifestation, to believe in oneself, and a fresh start.

Dark Moon and Our Inner Voice – November 12, 2019 – Full Moon – Beaver Moon

November 12, 2019 - Full Moon - Beaver Moon

Stillness is the key word for this Celtic Dark Full Moon. Its restful, rich solitude gives you the chance to hear that inner voice. When the lunar face is hidden, the intuitive psychic-self takes over. Make space for a clearing of the mind and spirit, so that you can be ready to receive. Many find the Dark Moon to be the most powerful time for soul-searching. The inner-self starts to grow in power, and make its presence known.

Trading Moon – Stocks & Bonds – November 12, 2019 – Full Moon – Beaver Moon

November 12, 2019 - Full Moon - Beaver Moon

Basically, stock prices tend to be higher around the time of the New Moon each month and reach a temporary low point around the time of the Full Moon. Buy and sell signals based on the phases of the moon are nothing new, as Larry Williams’s advice of some 20 years ago was, “Buy the full moon and sell the new moon.” He found that the prices of silver, wheat, corn and soybean oil rallied around the time of a Full Moon and dropped at the New Moon. Our mood is clearly a complex animal, with many artificial and natural factors coming together to influence our emotional state. Some natural factors, such as this Full Moon, are affecting the entire world population at the same time, and appear to be partially responsible for the day to day moves in financial markets.

Reed Moon and Mourning Moon

The Celts call the November Full Moon the Reed Moon, comparing the mournful music made by wind instruments to the ghoulish sounds of spirits being drawn into the underworld. And not without good reason – this Full Moon is also known as the Mourning Moon, and marks a dangerous time of the year where people could easily slip into the underworld with a single misstep. To avoid this, have trust in yourself and your ability to navigate any of the challenges ahead. This Full Moon of November is notorious for staying in the sky longer than other Full Moons. It rises quickly at sunset, faster than any other Full Moon to rise at that time, and lingers until morning where it’s energy will continue to loom.

Candle Lighting and a Powerful Affirmation

You can create so much change in your life by the simple lighting of a candle. Take a fresh candle, say an affirmation of your request and then light the candle. Tuck your request underneath its base written out on a piece of paper.

I AM releasing all beliefs, persons and situations, that have prevented me from seeing the array of abundance and opportunities that continuously flow to me. I AM ready to receive it NOW and allow all I desire to come to me.

October 28 – New Moon in Scorpio!

Posted on August 6, 2019November 1, 2019 by Lunar Princess

The Start of a New Lunar Cycle!

On October 28, the New Moon will be in Scorpio. This Moon will be located on the same side of the Earth as the Sun and will not be visible in the night sky. A New Moon marks the start of a new Lunar Cycle, as it is in the Moon’s first lunar phase. During this phase of the Moon, the lunar disk is invisible to the naked eye. The Moon is very important in its impact on the human body and our mental health. It begins its journey to a Full Moon as it will appear first as a tiny little crescent, which will get bigger and bigger, day by day.

The Magnetic Effect of the New Moon!

The New Moon, just like the Full Moon, exerts a strong gravitational pull on the elements, including the human body. The human body, after all, is about 80 percent water. The Moon is believed to work its mischievous magic by somehow disrupting the alignment of water molecules in the nervous system. Researchers believe that sleeping troubles are intensified during the time of a New Moon. This Moon’s magnetic effect, according to science, could be bringing heightened emotions to the surface. It brings about a time of calmness and balance, while also bringing energy and acceptance that anything can be accomplished.

A Time to Explore our Shadow Side!

While a New Moon is in Scorpio, it can be loaded with new chances to grow and multiple opportunities to succeed on various fronts of life. You may excel in everything you do, if you are sincere and patient. Prepare well and proceed confidently towards your goals. Hard work can help you turn destiny in your favor. With the New Moon in Scorpio, we are given a chance to explore our shadow side. Don’t get too worried because we all need to integrate our shadow within us at some point. The Scorpio New Moon can sometimes pack a sting, though, so be prepared for emotional impacts that could make you feel a little off-course, reckless, or dangerous.

Bring Calmness Into Your Space!

Today, your wishes and desires can be very strong. Since there is likely quite a bit of energy present on this day, it’s best to find a way to bring calmness into your space, so that you can harness the energy to your benefit. Take a few cleansing breaths at a quiet time in the evening, light a scented candle, and chill. This is the time to write down and release what is getting in the way of the experiences. The New Moon reminds us that we can always start fresh, and that there are infinite possibilities awaiting us at all times – if only we stay open to them.

A Time to Be Yourself!

This is a time to be yourself! Say no to things that don’t work for you, and sing an enthusiastic yes for the weird things that do. If something sounds too good to be true, trust your instinct. If the news is coming from someone who has been eccentric before, don’t even waste your time. Give your true self to the world and those around you. Now that you love yourself, it’s time to begin helping others find the highest form of self-love of their own. Understanding what you want and where you want to go is crucial to being happy and finding meaning in life.

Friendships – Good and Bad!

Shallow relationships and friendships will not satisfy you. A shallow friend doesn’t really care for you. To that person, money is what they are looking for and if you have a lot of it you’ll probably have lots of shallow friends. Good friends are good for our health. They keep us mentally and physically strong. If anyone stands out in your memory as someone you’d like to know better, reach out. Developing and maintaining good friendships takes effort. The enjoyment and comfort that good friendship can provide makes the investment worthwhile.

Smudging, Affirmations and Lists!

The Moon has its phases and so do our individual wants and needs. This is why it is a good practice to rededicate your list of intentions each month when another New Moon cycle returns for a visit. Incense and smudging herbs will help you cleanse the air and your body for the ritual. Sage is particularly helpful and it has long been used by Native Americans to clear a space of negative energy while inviting positive feelings. After smudging, use a notebook and write down an affirmation statement, such as, “I accept these things or something better into my life now for my highest good and for the highest good of all concerned.” Below this affirmation, begin writing down your desires. As the month continues, keep track of your progress. Journal if you like or simply remain mindful of your list of intentions. During the month, when an item on your New Moon list comes to you, do not merely cross it off of your list. Take the time to rewrite the list in its entirety and eliminate the manifested item from the listing.

Autumn Equinox !

Posted on July 28, 2019March 19, 2020 by Lunar Princess

The Start of Fall in the Northern Hemisphere!

The Autumnal (Autumn) Equinox—also called the September or Fall Equinox—is the astronomical start of Fall in the Northern Hemisphere and Spring in the Southern Hemisphere. On the two Equinoxes every year the Sun shines directly on the Equator and the length of day and night is nearly equal – but not exactly.  The September Equinox marks the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator – the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator – from north to south and vice versa in March.

Seasons in the Sun!

The Fall and Spring Equinoxes, the seasons, and the changing length of daylight hours throughout the year are all due to one fact: Earth spins on a tilted axis. The tilt — possibly caused by a massive object hitting Earth billions of years ago — means that for half the year, the North Pole is pointed toward the Sun. For the other half of the year, the South Pole gets more light. It’s why we have seasons. Equinox means “equal night.” And during the Equinox, most places on Earth will see approximately 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night.

We are a Reflection of the Universe!

All things must die before they can be reborn, and all spiritual ascent requires descent first. We are a reflection of the Universe that surrounds us, what takes place outside of us, also takes place within us.  This means that those who long for the light must first face the darkness within themselves. It is on the Autumnal Equinox, that this stage of inner preparation for enlightenment can begin. We are making way for the return of the Sun on the Winter Solstice, and it’s rebirth on the Spring Vernal Equinox. This is why it is so important to use this time of universal balance to hold gratitude in your heart for the life lessons that have helped you grow, and let go of everything else that does not serve you spiritually.

China and their Moon Festival!

In China the September Equinox is celebrated during the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival. The bounty of summer’s harvest is celebrated and the festivities are rampant with moon cakes, round pastries made from bean paste and other sweet and/or savory ingredients. It is said that having the cakes will bring the eater good luck. Lighting sandalwood sticks, the candles, and lanterns proceeding the age-old chanting, burning paper devils, praying for the family’s safety and prosperity are the basic procedures. Each year when the Mid Autumn Day is approaching, thousands of Chinese people, especially the Han People, will head backs to their homes from all over the country for a family get-together.

Enjoying the Full Harvest!

Head to a local farm to harvest items for a meal to celebrate the arrival of fall. Visit an Apple Orchard, Visit a Pumpkin Patch, or Visit a Corn Maze for harvest dates and how to find a pick your own farm near you. Create a meal from local seasonal foods. Invite your friends and family over to enjoy the Fall Harvest. Have your guests join you in creating a gratitude and/or project list. Decorate your home with fall decor and make a few fall crafts to display. This is a good way to include children in the festivities.

Fall-Inspired Crafts!

For those who love crafts, it’s a great time to start some fall-inspired crafts. There are all sorts of fall crafts you might like to try. A few ideas include: Carve some shrunken apple heads, make leaf prints, craft a fall wreath, frame fall foliage for decoration and use harvested corn to make corn stalk decorations. For those who love food crafts, fall is the ideal time to get into making preserves, pickles, sauces and frozen goodies. If you’re a photographer, artist or writer, try to capture the essence of fall in photos, artwork or word form. Don’t just focus on the changing leaves and bountiful harvests, consider the deeper meanings of the season as they resonate with you.

“Autumn”

The foliage has been losing its freshness through the month of August, and here and there a yellow leaf shows itself like the first gray hair amidst the locks of a beauty who has seen one season too many…. September is dressing herself in showy dahlias and splendid marigolds and starry zinnias. October, the extravagant sister, has ordered an immense amount of the most gorgeous forest tapestry for her grand reception. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes (1809–1894), “Autumn,” The Atlantic Almanac, 1868.

September 28, 2019 -New Moon in Libra

Posted on July 25, 2019October 16, 2019 by Lunar Princess

The Zodiac’s Natural Peacekeeper!

On September 28, the New Moon brings with her the opportunity for creativity—appearing dark, or empty, like fertile ground. New Moons happen when the Moon is between the Sun and the Earth. Over the following 14 to 15 nights, the Moon appears to gather more light from the Sun, becoming a crescent and eventually a Full Moon, and so brings with her the power of growth and potential. The New Moon in Libra is known as the zodiac’s natural peacekeeper. A lot of people consider this to be the energy of level-headed logic and fairness at all costs, especially since one of this sign’s symbols is the scales.

The Zodiac’s Queen of Cause and Effect!

Libra is the sign of balance, relationship, and justice. Libra reminds us that equity cannot exist when we are forced to hide a part of ourselves, our stories, or our truth. The New Moon in Libra is ripe for both reality checking and dreaming. The zodiac’s Queen of Cause and Effect wants us to thoroughly consider the consequences of our actions this month. As the New Moon in Libra dances through our zone of divine details and daily practices, it brings the perfect moment for considering “wellness” in the most inclusive sense of that term. Wellness of body, mind and soul.

Justice and Impartiality!

When the Moon transits the Libra zodiac sector, it is better to defer important decisions for later, but solutions to existing problems could be easy found. It is a time of justice and impartiality. Let this Moon remind you that this life is a crazy quilt of surprise endings and beginnings. It is a time to realize that we are not always right. The Moon in Libra stimulates our desire for harmony and balance, while the sense of beauty, refinement and aesthetic increases. It is a time for gratitude.

Fall and Harvest Season!

Libra is the first Autumn zodiac sign, marking the start of the fall and harvest season. Gardeners that work with Moon phases will sow seeds of leafy and short-root plants during a New Moon. As the Moon waxes, its tidal pull draws water up to the top of the soil nurturing the seed. Stop now to take stock of what you’ve been working on and of where you’ve put your energy since the spring. Untangle yourself from anything that doesn’t bear the fruit you’re craving to cultivate. Then be super-intentional about what you take on from here as you move forward. Trust your instincts.

Re-establish Balance That Has Been Lost!

The New Moon is all about a new cycle, and the Libra New Moon is all about finding ways to re-establish balance that has been lost. Libra doesn’t just appreciate balance — Libra also seeks out imbalance and fixes it. Make it your personal mission to compromise, since the Libra New Moon could initiate pleasant negotiations or sweet heart-to-hearts. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself wanting to play peacemaker during this transit!

Peaceful and Pleasing!

This New Moon, in the sign Libra this September, loves to love. Libra is a social air sign, surrounding itself with others, and trying to keep things peaceful and pleasing. One of the most beautiful qualities of the Libra sign, within the New Moon, is the ability to relate. We truly can relate to others if we recognize our amazing ability to see the “other side,” and to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes. It’s time to start a new habit of really appreciating the other person’s position, especially when things get sticky.

Greek Goddess Themis!

Libra comes from the Greek Goddess Themis, whose name translates to “divine law.” Goddess Themis is sometimes portrayed as being blindfolded, and sometimes not, wielding a sword to cut through delusion. Although Libra is recognized as an agent of balance, there might actually be very little “middle ground” in her world, with the weights of her scale like this or that, no gray area in between, world split in two. Consider that our social webs are not immune to universal law, that relationships are not pleasant mistakes but heavenly constructs. Are you surrounded by the right people? Don’t give away your power. Sometimes, compromise is an important part of keeping your power.  Remember that we cannot change anyone, only the way we see them.

New Moon in Libra Ritual!

New Moon Energy can be powerful. Tapping into this energy can support our dreams and desires. We can harness the energy of the New Moon to fulfill our visions and make our desires come true by creating a New Moon ritual. This ritual should be a time where you can relax and light a candle and maybe some incense, too. Listen to your heart and write down on paper what you truly desire in life. Do not ask for too much, keep your list simple and short with no more than ten goals or wishes. Declare to the New Moon what your vision is. Declare it boldly and with courage. Speak them loudly. By physically speaking them you symbolize your intention to manifest your goals.

The Lapis Lazuli also helps the Pisceans with truth-seeking when worn with the Quartz Crystal. Their best day of the week is Thursday. The people born under this sign have a mystical side to their nature as well as the practical. They live idealistically and can be very generous and compassionate. Pisceans feel misunderstood much of the time as they tend to withdraw into a dream world, in quest for new ideas and solutions. They express themselves in literature, music and art. They love luxury and pleasure. The Pisces is very sensitive, rather than mechanical.

The Pisces female loves adventure and social events. She is graceful while attending gatherings and voices her opinion often. She chooses love over money, as money doesn’t appeal to her because materialistic desires are unimportant. She is a romantic, very forgiving, and super devoted.

The male Pisces is guided by ideas. He is the perfectionist. He will bring all of his best qualities to the table in a romantic relationship, and will prove himself worthy of consideration. He is always searching for the perfect partner who loves to travel and will experience other cultures with him. The Pisces man is caring and will prove to be your most trusted friend. It will take the Pisces guy time to feel comfortable in a relationship before he is willing to commit.

Pisceans are better working for themselves than for a large corporation. If they are working in a job that asks them to do repetitive and monotonous tasks every day, they would not be happy, or feel fulfilled. They need a job that allows them to express themselves and be true to their creative vision. Their metaphysical nature can lead them into careers in the Spiritual realm, and they make exceptional mediums and counselors. Another ideal career for the Pisceans is that of a photographer.

August 30 – New Moon, Black Moon – 2019 —

Posted on July 23, 2019September 7, 2019 by Lunar Princess

New Moon in Virgo!

In modern astronomy, the New Moon is when the Sun and Moon are aligned, with the Sun and Earth on opposite sides of the Moon. As New Moon nights are dark, they are often the best time to view other celestial objects like planets, meteor showers, and deep sky objects such as star clusters, and galaxies. This August 30th brings a New Moon in Virgo. Virgo energy gets things done and likes to create an impact on the world through consistent, reliable effort.

Ambitions are Kicking into Overdrive!

A New Moon in Virgo is a strong one. The energy from Virgo has ambitions kicking into overdrive and brings productive energy, more than we are used to. If we do not prepare ourselves for the change in energy, we could find ourselves feeling overwhelmed beyond function. If we are prepared for this burst of Virgo energy, we can ride it for all its worth and get things done. If you are not used to this kind of intense energy, you might waste it if you don’t harness it.

The Virgo Goddess!

This Virgo New Moon Goddess is assisting all of us in putting our lives in order, taking steps to finish what we’ve started, while finding solutions that are natural, essential, and economical. The  Virgo New Moon Goddess seeks maximum efficiency, especially in health and habits, to help with our work lives and daily routines. We are looking for elegant solutions in our lives and she can help. Not in the fashion sense, though she can be that, too, but in precision, quality, and ability to get things done. Elegance is a balance of simplicity and precision honed to gracefully deliver maximum results, with the ability to quickly spot problems and hone in on the details.  The Virgo Goddess is a learn-it-so-you-can-fix-it kind of gal.

This New Moon is a Black Moon!

We have a very exciting happening with this New Moon. This Moon is also called a Black Moon as it is a second New Moon that appears in a calendar month. Most years have twelve New Moons, one each month. But our calendar is not perfectly synchronized with astronomical events. Therefore, every now and then, a year has thirteen Full Moons. When this happens, the New Moons is also referred to as a Black Moon.

A Shift in the Energy of the Universe!

When the Black Moon arrives, a shift in the energy of the Universe is underway. Our attention might shift to new interests and/or occupations. We may meet new people or drift from old ones. What once seemed so important to our well-being, loses its appeal and we find deep inner shifts reflected in changes we once could never have contemplated. Insights and wisdom will be coming to us thick and fast, so it is essential that we take time to process and make sense of what information it holds—and the reasons it is coming to us at this exact time. Allow more quiet time in your daily routine.

Clearing Negative Patterns!

The Dark Moon is where the real growth occurs. When we go through the energy shift of the Dark Moon, it is vital that we discard outdated belief systems, let go of irrational and debilitating thoughts, untangle ourselves from toxic dynamics, and become aware of how we are holding ourselves back by repeating harmful patterns of behavior. Black Moons are important for clearing negative patterns and catapulting us forward with a clearer, more focused mind.

Good Health, Honor and Riches!

New Moon Energy can be powerful. Tapping into this energy can support your dreams and desires. This New Moon is about bringing good health, honor, and riches. It brings people together and is a good omen for ending conflict through peaceful negotiations. This is a time to make your dreams come true through patience, open-mindedness, and hard work. One way to connect to this energy and influence is to use the Moon’s energy to help set our intentions and clear negativity. Be clear on what you want going forward.

Smudging, The Smoke that Purifies!

Incense is commonly associated with cleansing, and the fragrant smoke from burning herbs or resins has been used for cleansing negative energy for centuries. Sage is the most popular and burning sage is a great way to cleanse the aura as well. When reading about working with sage, you may see the phrase “smudging ceremony.” The word “smudging” sounds like it might imply using the ashes; however, it really means “to pass something through smoke” or “to pass the smoke over and around something.” It is the smoke that purifies. Use a sage bundle or stick incense, light the end, let it burn a few moments, and blow it out. The end should be glowing red, with smoke coming out of it. Move the smoke over and around the item, space, or person to be cleansed.

August 1, 2019 – Brings a New Moon!

Posted on July 17, 2019September 1, 2019 by Lunar Princess

The New Moon Phase for August – –

August 1, 2019 New Moon

The New Moon Phase for August has visibility at 1%. It is also known as a Young Moon. This Phase of the Moon, when it is in conjunction with the Sun and invisible from Earth, or shortly thereafter, when it appears as a slender crescent, is called a New Moon. The Moon does not emit its own light, shining, instead, by reflecting sunlight. Depending on the relative positions of the Earth, Sun and Moon, varying amounts of the lunar surface appear to be illuminated. New Moons are a great time to set intentions for things you’d like to create, develop, cultivate, and make manifest.

The New Moon Brings New Beginnings

August 1, 2019 New MoonThe New Moon is a birth. As the waxing phase journeys on, the Moon grows and matures until it reaches its ripest point, the Full Moon. A New Moon marks the start of a new lunar cycle, as well as the start of a new personal cycle. The New Moon will ignite the passion in our relationships and bring us closer to our families. Families are where we can feel love and learn how to love others. Life is tough, and we need people we can lean on. It is also a time for tenderness and fun with your family members.

August 1, 2019 New Moon: Strong Gravitational Pull of a New Moon

The New Moon, just like the Full Moon, exerts a strong gravitational pull on the elements, including the human body. Researchers believe that sleeping troubles are intensified during the time of a New Moon. At the New and Full Moon, the pull they exert is at its strongest. This is because the Sun, the Moon and the Earth line up in a relatively straight line. The Sun’s gravitational pull adds to that of the Moon, giving us the highest and lowest tides.

Chinese Astrology and the New Moon

August 1, 2019 New MoonThe Chinese Zodiac, within the traditional Chinese calendar, celebrates this New Moon phase, or what they also call the Dark Moon, at the start of the calendar month. This New Moon phase lasts roughly for 29 plus days. The Chinese New Year is kick-started by the first New Moon of the year. During the Chinese New Year (which is also celebrated by many surrounding countries in Asia such as the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia), many traditional rituals and festivals are held where fireworks are lit. Many Buddhists abstain from eating meat, and elders and family members are celebrated, even those who have departed.

August 1, 2019 New Moon: Energy of the New Moon

Many people participate in New Moon rituals where they may meditate on their personal desires, dreams and intentions. The energy of the New Moon helps people grow spiritually as they seek out the Moon’s healing energy. In this manner, the New Moon is rich with symbolism and it represents a time of great self-awareness where hopes and visions for the future can be manifested.

Unsettling and Uncertainty of a New Moon

The New Moon is also known for having a more inward feel, and therefore can be unsettling to those not comfortable with uncertainty, or change. Be as mindful as possible to stay positive. Guard against all variety of negativity with your mighty will. Whatever energy you feed during the New Moon Phase will be stored in your vault, and be amplified later in the month. This can obviously be positive or negative. To get the best out of this, you want to think positive thoughts. A great help can be a “Moon Gathering” with others.

Strength of “Moon Gatherings”

The belief in the power of a New Moon is so strong, it has people coming together for “Moon Gatherings,” where candles are lit, intentions are set, and a fresh start is summoned. Start by sitting down in a quiet space and writing out your Goals for the next 30 days. List the ways in which you are not only receiving support from others, but supporting others, too. This can be done alone, or with others. You should cleanse your home with sage to eliminate all negative energy, play meditation music, and light a scented candle. A new candle for the New Moon. Sit in a circle while writing down your thoughts, and if you are with others, have each one read their intentions out loud. It is a powerful time to send out your desires to the Universe.

October 13 – Full Moon in Aries! It is also called Full Hunter’s Moon, the Travel Moon, Blood Moon and the Fire and Wind Moon.

Posted on July 10, 2019November 1, 2019 by Lunar Princess

This Full Moon brings New Beginnings!

This Full Moon in Aries brings new beginnings in terms of standing up for ourselves, becoming more independent and daring to take a risk. This is a potent Full Moon for the Warrior. The challenge of this Full Moon is to learn to extend a peace offering to someone close to you, to understand the rewards of balancing your wishes and desires with theirs, and if necessary, to let go of a relationship that doesn’t allow you both independence balanced with intimacy.

The Full Hunter’s Moon

This Full Moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Hunter’s Moon because the leaves are falling and the game is fat and ready to hunt. Mother Earth has prevailed with the change of seasons to remind us to prepare ourselves for a dramatic shift in our lives while giving ourselves the much-needed time to get accustomed to the changes coming our way. Use the element of Fire under this transit to harness and manifest the luck that you need.

The Travel Moon

This Moon has also been known as the Travel Moon. It is called the Travel Moon as this Moon provides extra light after sunset for farmers to continue working on harvesting their crops. When harvesting is completed, farmers have the advantage of extra evening light to engage their wandering spirits. Use red candles and burn cinnamon, nutmeg or ginger as your incense during this Full Travel Moon.

Blood Moon

The name “Blood Moon” is used for a Moon that appears reddish because of dust, smoke and haze in the sky. It is one of the Full Moons of autumn when the leaves are turning red. This is a time when you might be tempted to make the wrong decision under the influence of the Blood Moon and taking time out to stop and think is essential. Act wisely and don’t make any irrational decisions.

Fire and Wind Moon

This October Full Moon is a subtle reminder to all of us that “With great power comes great responsibility.” It is essential that we not only act in a scenario that demands it but also take responsibility for that action. Aries brings fire and wind to new opportunities. That we have two opposite energies working in harmony under this Full Moon is no mistake!

Step Up and Take Action

The October Full Moon in Aries brings the energy needed to accomplish, as we are being asked to step up, take action, and start claiming back our lives. The last few months have been a season of resting, thinking, and deciding which elements of the past to let go of (see ya later, toxic relationships!). With that time to internalize behind us, the cosmos will now call on everyone to let their inner Fire signs show.

Fork-In-The-Road Moments

This Aries Full Moon tends to encourage impulsive, passionate behavior, which is exactly the kind you need in order to weather the emotions and fork-in-the-road moments that are coming our way courtesy of the lunar cycle.  The secret to making good choices is to be conscious of the larger picture of what you want in your life.  Certain decisions are more important than others.  The problem is, we don’t know which ones are which.   Every challenge that we encounter, we will come out the other side stronger, wiser and more experienced.

October 2019 – Astrological Events

Posted on July 8, 2019November 1, 2019 by Lunar Princess

October Brings New Beginnings – A Full Moon in Aries – Meteor Showers —

Mercury Enters Scorpio – A Time of Suspicion

October 3 – Mercury enters Scorpio. Scorpio is very intense, secretive and instinctive, so when coupled with the planet of communication, this creates extremely profound and capable insight. This intensifies the ability to see human motivations more clearly. It is a time of suspicion and hidden motives as you will find others always wanting the upper hand in conversations. Strategies are strong. Communications are passionate and many times appear to be lecturing. When interacting with others, observe, as you will be given really good advice and help.

The Moon Enters Capricorn

October 4 – Moon enters Capricorn. This is a time for focus. Our determination to reach our goals is very strong. The Moon in Capricorn is a good time to balance between home and career. It’s ensuring that life doesn’t get in the way of work and that work doesn’t stop you having a career. Working together with friends and family can be important to your success at home—or at work—and can even improve your health. People with stronger support systems have more aggressive immune responses to illnesses than those who lack such support.

Draconids Meteor Shower with Shooting Stars

October 8 – Draconids Meteor Shower. The Draconids is a minor meteor shower producing only about 10 meteors per hour, but reaches it peak tonight. It is produced by dust grains left behind by comet 21P Giacobini-Zinner, which was first discovered in 1900. Meteor showers are also known as shooting stars. Take a moment to wish on one of these shooting stars. That moment, that pause when you become present and you send out an intention into the Universe — that alone is sacred in its own way. Venus enters Scorpio today.

Full Moon Brings New Beginnings

October 13 – Full Moon in Aries. This Full Moon brings new beginnings in terms of standing up for ourselves, becoming more independent and daring to take a risk. This Full Moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Hunters Moon because the leaves are falling and the game is fat and ready to hunt. This Moon has also been known as the Travel Moon and the Blood Moon. Called the Travel Moon as this Moon provides extra light after sunset for farmers to continue working on harvesting their crops. When harvesting is completed, farmers have the advantage of extra evening light to engage their wandering spirits. The name “Blood Moon” is used for a Moon that appears reddish because of dust, smoke and haze in the sky. It is one of the full moons of autumn when the leaves are turning red.

Spirit Guides and Angels

October 15 – Mercury in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces – Contact between these two planets does make it a good time to communicate with our Spirit Guides, Angels, or even loved ones who have crossed over to The Other Side. Pay attention to what happens in your dreams now. Dream time is where we are at our most relaxed, and as such, messages come through more readily when we sleep vs. during our waking hours. Your dreams will bring you clarity.

The Energy of Mercury brings Quirks

October 20 — Mercury at Greatest Eastern Elongation. Mercury will be at its highest point above the horizon in the evening sky. The energy of Mercury, at this time, has been known to bring quirks in your manner of speaking, such as being defensive, chatty, eloquent, emotional, etc. Since the mind can be its own house of mirrors, this also can show a mind drawn to illusions or to playing games with others.

Orionids Meteor Shower Brings Good Luck

October 21, 22 – Orionids Meteor Shower. The Orionids is an average shower producing up to 20 meteors per hour at its peak. It is produced by dust grains left behind by comet Halley, which has been known and observed since ancient times. The Second Quarter Moon will block some of the fainter meteors this year, but the Orionids tend to be fairly bright so observing its shooting stars could still be a good show. Best viewing will be from a dark location after midnight. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Orion, but can appear anywhere in the sky. Seeing a shooting star means that you will achieve your destiny.

Transformation Comes with the Sun Entering Scorpio

October 23 – Sun enters Scorpio. The Sun entering this sign ruled by Pluto brings the best time for self-transformation. Pluto is known as the “Planet of Magic and Power.“ It is mainly the power to transform yourself, so that you become a person who can achieve your goals. It is a day to put you, first.

October and Your Finances

October 25 – Venus in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn. All the energies and results from what was started and set with intention, will be brought in full circle. You will not have to worry about financial issues because the stars are rightly aligned to bless you in this sector.

Uranus at Opposition

October 27 – Uranus at Opposition. The blue-green planet will be at its closest approach to Earth and its face will be fully illuminated by the Sun. It will be brighter than any other time of the year and will be visible all night long. This is the best time to view Uranus. Uranus helps us to detach from the ego and observe things from an objective perspective. This experience of detachment often leads us into new and unexpected directions. When we allow this process to occur naturally in our lives, it can actually bring liberation and freedom.

October’s New Moon and Peace

October 28 – New Moon in Scorpio. The Moon will be located on the same side of the Earth as the Sun and will not be visible in the night sky. Today, our desires can be very strong. Since there is likely quite a bit of energy present on this day, it’s best to find a way to bring calmness into your space, so that you can harness the energy to your benefit. Take a few cleansing breaths at a quiet time in the evening, sage your space, and chill. This is the time to write down and release what is getting in the way of the experiences that haven’t arrived yet. This will bring the perfect opportunity to create intentions and find peace in your own life.

Mercury and Scorpio – A Time of Learning

October 30 – Mercury conjunct Venus in Scorpio. Much will be revealed but people will also go digging for a lot of garbage that doesn’t exist. There will be a fine line between getting to the truth and harassing someone. While in Scorpio, thoughts about relationships will be fixed and intensified. Scorpio needs to have power and this is achieved by getting to the bottom of things. Just make sure you don’t cross the line.

August’s Spiritual Meaning Within Astrology

Posted on July 3, 2019October 14, 2021 by Lunar Princess

Origins of August!

August is the eighth month of the year and the sixth month of the Roman calendar. The Romans called the month Sextilis, which means sixth. Eight years before Jesus was born, the name of the month was changed to Augustus, in honor of the Roman Emperor Augustus Caesar.

Letting Go of Judgments

The spiritual meaning of August is about “Letting go of Judgments.” When you form judgments, you stop yourself from seeing things as they really are. When you judge others, you are often projecting your thoughts about reality onto them. Those thoughts may not describe them accurately at all. As you get beyond judgment and learn to see people through the eyes of compassion, you will feel an increasing oneness with them.

Illusions

Illusions come when you look only at the surface of something and don’t go beyond appearances to examine what is inside. You can see the bigger picture of who people are by looking beyond the roles they play. As you do, you are going beyond outer appearances and seeing the reality of their higher selves.

Believe in Your Truth

Try to question what you are hearing and reading, don’t accept things just because others do.  Follow your heart and believe in your truth, not what others or society tells you is best.  As you discover what is true for you, you will assist others in finding a higher way by your example.

Spiritual Gem Stone for August

The original birthstone for August was Sardonyx, and then Peridot was added, becoming August’s primary gemstone. That’s why this is one of few gemstones that only comes in one color, though shades may vary from yellowish-green to olive to brownish-green, depending how much iron is present. Peridot is a crystal of positive power, a talisman for recognizing and honoring the Creator’s frequency of Love, the source of all abundance. Used with right intent, it helps expand one’s ability to receive from the Universe on all levels of life.

August Horoscope

Posted on June 8, 2019September 1, 2019 by Lunar Princess

The August soul is intrigued with the Sun, for the Sun is the source of all Life and Strength. The Fire Element of August has Summer in a full bloom of lazy afternoons, beautiful flowers and bright sunshine. It is a time to tolerate and forgive enemies and respect the wisdom of elders. It’s not always easy to communicate during a Sun Sign vibration but loyalty and respect runs deep. August is a time when quarrels are quickly resolved, forgiven and forgotten.

August Brings Summer in Full Bloom

We love flitting from one thing to another in search of the ultimate.  Outside circumstances tend to toss us a curve ball, so watch out for road blocks and don’t be too intense.  Life isn’t always an either/or proposition.  Slow down, think before you act and speak, and try to see the issue the way the other guy does.  Don’t jump to conclusions.

August and Stability

August brings a deep need to establish roots and make our home comfortable, warm and a reflection of our own importance.  Changes in residences in the past have given us good memories and strong feelings of security.  It is also a month that brings ways to make money that are unusual.  Some of these methods may be so far ahead of their time that they border on genius.

August and Adventure

You have a strong love of music and a fondness for beautiful surroundings.  You usually do everything in a big way and have an inclination for travel and adventure.  You know where you want to go, but lack direction.  Instead of spending time in chat rooms on the internet, plan that adventure for the near future.  It will work for you.

August and Reality

Our core beliefs determine our reality.  August brings optimism, even when faced with enormous challenges.  Watch out for being too trusting of smooth talkers with devious plans.  Yoga, meditation or an exercise program will help you overcome these issues.

August Brings Us Back to Nature

It’s time to stop wasting a lot of energy fretting about small things in your life.  You’re a psychic sponge who absorbs the emotions and attitudes of the people around you.  A creative outlet for your emotional energy would be most beneficial. Take a walk to your local park or a nature preserve. Nature can often help us get outside of our minds and appreciate the world around us more.

September Horoscope

Posted on July 28, 2019September 30, 2019 by Lunar Princess

Ruled by Mercury and with the added element of Earth, September can be a month of pressure, mental tension and feelings of disquiet. It’s time to get around positive, nourishing and encouraging people that have the capacity to support us and add to our state of harmony rather than deplete us and knock us off kilter.

September and the Dreamer

Our ideas are original and ahead of our time. When we are positive and enthusiastic about a project, we have the ability to project this and excite others. We possess depth of vision, but the dreamer side of our nature is compassionate and idealistic. We will learn from yesterday, live for today, and hope for tomorrow.

September and Connections

Summer is ending and the first awareness of the coming harvest is in the air. It is a time to understand that to have our own needs met, we must serve others in some way. Volunteering can help counteract the effects of stress, anger, and anxiety. Nothing relieves stress better than a meaningful connection to another person. It’s a time to show kindness to others.

September is a month to bring order out of confusion. If you aren’t where you want to be in life and you want to make a change, then the first step is really knowing that it’s never too late. Today is just as great of a day to start as any other

September and Harmony

Harmony is coming into our lives. When we have a positive focus, then we will tend to attract more positive things. Whereas if we have a negative focus, then we will attract negative things. We know this and are now taking control over where we focus our attention. Where attention goes, energy flows.

September and Friendships

September brings awareness. It is important that we receive respect and are not taken for granted. We feel generous and supportive with the people we love, so it’s time to do something special for them. September brings the ability to make loyal friends as we look for stability and security in our relationships. Having an active social life can bolster our immune system and help reduce isolation, a major contributing factor to depression.

July 16 – Full Moon – Thunder Moon – Hay Moon – Full Buck Moon

Posted on May 27, 2019August 2, 2019 by Lunar Princess

July 16th, 2019 is the night of the Full Moon, Thunder Moon, Hay Moon and Full Buck Moon. Does a Full Moon affect us? Everything has a cycle and reacts according to the way the Universe is laid out. The planets in our Solar System affect us on emotional levels.  This includes the Moon. Because the law of attraction is thought to be at its most powerful during a Full Moon, those who use it wisely can create myriad opportunities for themselves.

July 16, 2019 – “Thunder Moon”  and “Hay Moon”

The name “Thunder Moon,” according the Old Farmer’s Almanac, was adapted from the native people, in what is now the United States, where summer is thunderstorm season, especially in the Northeast and Midwest.

Because thunderstorms are such a defining characteristic of this month, according to Farmer’s Almanac, the Full Moon remains truthful to its name.

July’s Full Moon, known as the “Thunder Moon,” thanks to all the storms that roll through, or as the Sturgeon Moon on the Great Lakes when those fish are easiest to catch, are not the only names for this Moon. Other tribes and early colonists referred to the Full Moon in July as the “Hay Moon.” The “Hay Moon” was a signal to farmers to start storing their hay for winter.

Observing the Moon, sitting comfortably, or lying down on a patch of grass and letting the Full Moon’s light fill our eyes, makes it easy to be reminded of how ancient and everlasting all the celestial bodies are. Watch how it puts your life into perspective. The annoyances, the anxieties and worries from our day fade away as we realize that in life there are bigger things at play, and it is okay to simply open up and exist in the here and now.

July 16, 2019 – “Full Buck Moon”

For many years, natives have called July’s Full Moon the “Full Buck Moon.” This name comes from our Native American and Colonial past when the Moon was used to track the seasons. Bucks are growing new antlers at this time, as deer start to shed the coatings of velvety fur on their antlers, thus the name “Full Buck Moon.”

There are lots of animals that can lose and regrow body parts like this, but deer are the only mammals with this trick. And deer do it really well — antlers have one of the fastest regrowing times out of all of these body parts. Today, scientists are interested in learning more about how the process works in hopes of applying those techniques to human medicine in the future.

July 16, 2019 – Full Moon brings Interesting Encounters

This Full Moon is going to bring about interesting encounters in your personal life, as well as fun and stimulating events. The Full Moon of July often casts an exuberant vibe, making it a great time to have a party. This also opens the door for meaningful people to step into your life. But there is a dark side to this Moon.

The Moon is a planet of the subconscious, and like the tides, it has a sweeping effect on our emotional life. Dealing with the kinds of feelings a Full Moon brings up can be difficult to do alone, so whether you are single or attached, you might want to reach out and connect with someone close to you just to feel less alone. This could also be a great time to plan outings with friends and re-establish connections that might have been put aside over time.

July 16, 2019 – Hot Energy from this Full Moon

Some astrologists believe this July Full Moon can be a dangerous one. According to Astrology King, the position of the Moon directly opposite of the Sun and Mars “creates such intensely hot energy that it will be difficult to control.”

They also warn that if this energy gets out of control, you might experience “serious relationship problems.” This energy may be difficult to control, but with a positive attitude, you can stay composed.

Incoming and outgoing energies must match. You can’t expect to receive great energy if the one you give off is terrible. Act on principle: Even if someone has done something wrong to you, don’t retaliate. Let karma address it.

July 16, 2019 – Stay Calm

The Full Moon is the time to stay calm, let things go, breathe deeply through difficult moments and forgive others for their mistakes. Since you have the full moon power behind you, send healing energy, forgiveness, pink light and loving-kindness to friends, family, colleagues, and strangers.

Make a point to send peaceful energy to the places in the world experiencing strife, hardship, poverty and war. It has huge benefits for them and as a bonus, you create loads of good Karma.

Even without directing your intention, you can help other people around you feel better; and “around you” means the entire planet! Anytime you raise your energetic frequency, you automatically raise the frequency of people you think about.

Great Affirmations for a Full Moon:

I am whole, complete. I maintain balance in myself and my life. I allow and encourage new growth in my life. I let go of attachments that hold me back. I move forward with the intention to heal. I engage with only those who are good for me.

I let go of all which no longer serves me. I allow and encourage new opportunities in my life. I am in alignment with my truest and highest self. I am whole, complete!

More on the Full Corn Moon from Farmer’s Almanac

September 14, 2019 - Full Moon

September Full Corn Moon

This Full Moon was known by early Native American tribes as the “Full Corn Moon” because the corn is harvested around this time of year. The astronomical seasons do not match up with the lunar month. Therefore, the month of the Full Corn or Harvest Moon varies. Usually, it occurs in September.

September 14, 2019 - Full Moon

This Moon is usually known as the Harvest Moon. The Harvest Moon is the Full Moon that occurs closest to the September (or Harvest) Equinox. Farmers can work late into the night by the light of this Moon.  Normally, the Full Moon rises an average of 50 minutes later each night, but for the few nights around the Harvest Moon, the Moon seems to rise at nearly the same time. This phase of the Moon is the most active of the Moon cycles and typically brings with it increased stamina and evening energy.

The Full Moon is also called the “Dying Grass Moon” as it plays into the theme of the changing seasons. At this time of year, crops such as corn, pumpkins, squash, and wild rice are ready for gathering. Most often, the September Full Moon is actually the Harvest Moon, in addition to being named the Dying Grass Moon.  In two years out of three, the Harvest Moon comes in September, but in some years it occurs in October.

September 14, 2019 – Full Moon – The Algonquin Tribes

September 14, 2019 - Full Moon

The Algonquin tribes of what is now the northern and eastern United States, named the first Full Moon of fall the Travel Moon, the Dying Grass Moon, or the Sanguine or Blood Moon. Some sources indicate that the Dying Grass, Sanguine, and Blood Moon are thought to be related to the turning of the leaves and hibernating of plants with the start of fall. Others indicate that that the names Sanguine or Blood Moon are associated with hunting and correspond with the Full Moon after this, the Hunter’s Moon.

The name “Blood Moon” has the characteristic of these autumn Moons that appear full – and rise soon after sunset – for several evenings in a row. When we see this Moon low in the sky, the extra air between us and the Moon makes the Moon look reddish. This is why it is called the Blood Moon.

September Full Moon and Venus

September 14, 2019 - Full Moon

On the evening of the September Full Moon, the brightest of the planets, Venus, will appear at nearly its brightest for this apparition, but also very low near the horizon in the west-southwest, setting right around the time evening twilight ends. To see Venus you will need a clear view of the horizon. Venus will be bright enough to see shortly after sunset while it is still higher in the sky. When Venus is visible in the evening, it is known as Hesperus, Vesper, or the Evening Star. As evening twilight ends, Jupiter, appearing as second brightest planet in the sky.

September 14, 2019 – Full Moon in Pisces

September 14, 2019 - Full Moon

This Full Moon in Pisces may find us drifting and dreaming. We might experience feelings of insecurity, and we may be passive and only want to wait and see what happens in our lives. These Full Moon vibrations could have us more concerned with the thoughts that are dancing through our heads than the realities of our everyday life.

September 14, 2019 – Full Moon and Sharp Intuition

This is the phase of the Moon when we tend to be incredibly sensitive people that have been gifted with a sharp intuition. Our sixth sense is so strong at this time that we often display psychic abilities, and are prone to having prophetic dreams and picking up on things around us that others might miss.

September 14, 2019 - Full Moon

The Moon’s gravitational pull on the Earth is strongest when the Moon is Full, and the light of the Sun illuminates the Moon. The energy and light help you see things in powerful new ways and set plans for moving forward.

September 14, 2019 – Full Moon and Smudging

September 14, 2019 - Full Moon

Create a sacred space with candles and sage smudging. Place a large water-filled bowl in front of you, in the middle of a table. This can be done inside or out, with friends or alone. Place a floating candle into the bowl. Declare what you want to release under this Moon. Allow the candle to keep burning in the bowl as a symbol of the letting go process.

THINGS TO RELEASE

Fear of change, Grief, Shame, Releasing a job, Ending a relationship and the energy attached to it, Belief that you’re not good enough, Comparing yourself to others, Worrying about money, Clinging onto things, Fear of success, Letting go of the need for approval from others, Fear of criticism and judgment, Old beliefs that are no longer serving you.

September 2019 Astrological Events

Posted on August 2, 2019October 5, 2019 by Lunar Princess

September 1 – The Moon’s monthly orbit around the Earth will carry it to its closest point to the Sun – its Perihelion. The Moon’s orbit carries it between the Sun and the Earth, at around the same time that it passes its New Moon phase. It is a great time to be creative and participate in writing, painting or anything else that allows the mind to be inspired.

September Neptune at Opposition

September 9 – Neptune at Opposition. The blue giant planet will be at its closest approach to Earth and its face will be fully illuminated by the Sun. It will be brighter than any other time of the year and will be visible all night long. Also tonight, the Piscid Meteor Shower will reach its maximum rate of activity. Some shooting stars associated with the shower are expected to be visible each night from September to October. To see the most meteors, the best place to look is not directly at the radiant itself, but at any dark patch of sky which is around 30–40° away from it.

September Comet 260P/McNaught

September 11 – Comet 260P/McNaught will make its closest approach to the Sun, at a distance of 1.42 AU. Also, the Moon’s monthly orbit around the Earth will carry it to its furthest point from the Sun – its Aphelion. This happens at around the time when the Moon’s orbit carries it around the far side of the Earth as seen from the Sun, as it passes its Full Moon phase. This reminds us that we are not infallible, that we should remain humble and in a constant state of self-reflection on our path to spiritual enlightenment.

September Moon at Apogee

September 13 – The Moon will be at Apogee. The Moon will reach the furthest point along its orbit to the Earth and will appear slightly smaller than at other times. The Moon’s distance from the Earth varies because its orbit is not perfectly circular – it is instead slightly oval-shaped, tracing out a path called an Ellipse. During this time it is common to feel shy and experience sensitive feelings. It is a good time to stay away from crowds and to keep the focus on ourselves.

September Full Corn Moon

September 14 – Full Moon. The Moon will be located on the opposite side of the Earth as the Sun and its face will be will be fully illuminated. This Full Moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Corn Moon because the corn is harvested around this time of year. This Moon is also known as the Harvest Moon. The Harvest Moon is the Full Moon that occurs closest to the September Equinox each year. This phase of the Moon is the most active of the Moon cycle and typically brings with it increased stamina and evening energy.

September Piscid Meteor Shower

September 21 – The Piscid meteor shower will reach its maximum rate of activity tonight.. Some shooting stars associated with the shower are expected to be visible each night from September through October. Now is the time to start on a new path with the clarity that is reborn within us, as certainty and self-possession are reignited in our soul.

September Autumn Equinox

September 23 – Autumn Equinox. The Sun will shine directly on the Equator and there will be nearly equal amounts of day and night throughout the world. This is also the first day of fall in the Northern Hemisphere and the first day of spring in the Southern Hemisphere. Spiritually speaking, fall represents the Harvest time of year, a time to acknowledge abundance as our natural state of being. Our lives go through cycles of growth, harvest, death, and rebirth just as we see in nature.

September Moon and M44

September 24 – The Moon and M44 will make a close approach today. The pair will be visible in the dawn sky, approximately 4 hours and 43 minutes before the Sun – and reaching an altitude of 45° above the horizon before fading from view as dawn breaks. This connection serves as a reminder that all things are in transit on their own journey. We cannot forget to keep moving forward on our own.

September Asteroid 21 Lutetia

September 27 – Asteroid 21 Lutetia will be well placed for observation, lying in the constellation Pisces, well above the horizon for much of the night. This is when 21 Lutetia will reach its highest point in the sky at around midnight. It is a time for awakening our higher minds. We must forgive ourselves our past mistakes and accept them as having passed. We must recognize our own shortcomings and decide to address them.

September 28 – New Moon. The Moon will locate on the same side of the Earth as the Sun and will not be visible in the night sky. This is the best time of the month to observe faint objects such as galaxies and star clusters because there is no moonlight to interfere. The New Moon is symbolic of the second chance we are given over and over again. This New Moon gifts us with a clean slate.

September Moon and Mercury

September 29 – The Moon and Mercury will share the same right ascension, with the Moon passing 6°14′ to the north of Mercury. Unfortunately, the pair will not be observable – they will reach their highest point in the sky during daytime and will be no higher than 2° above the horizon at dusk. While the Moon determines how we process our feelings and moods, Mercury reflects our communication style and the impact it has on our lives. It’s a time of feeling the need to define our feelings rather than experiencing them. Don’t let this time last too long. Expressing your feelings is good for your emotional health.

September Musings

“The first flash of color always excites me as much as the first frail, courageous bloom of spring. This is, in a sense, my season–sometimes warm and, when the wind blows an alert, sometimes cold. But there is a clarity about September. On clear days, the sun seems brighter, the sky more blue, the white clouds take on marvelous shapes; the Moon is a wonderful apparition, rising gold, cooling to silver; and the stars are so big. The September storms–the hurricane warnings far away, the sudden gales, the downpour of rain that we have so badly needed here for so long–are exhilarating, and there’s a promise that what September starts, October will carry on, catching the torch flung into her hand.” ― Faith Baldwin, Evening Star.

The month begins with a sense of anticipation, as the astrological landscape suggests a time ripe for introspection, change, and the manifestation of long-held dreams. The highlight of October 2024’s cosmic calendar is undoubtedly the Full Moon, which falls in the dynamic sign of Aries. This Full Moon is not just an ordinary lunar event; it’s a beacon of initiation and action. Known for its fiery energy, the Aries Full Moon symbolizes a peak of emotional intensity where ideas and passions come to fruition. It’s a time when the energy of new beginnings, courage, and assertiveness is at its zenith, urging us to take bold steps toward our goals. This selfless commitment to aiding others, often without expecting anything in return, weaves a narrative of hope, community, and transformation. Across the globe, from the bustling streets of major cities to the quiet, remote villages, the volunteer spirit is not just an action but a movement, changing lives one act at a time. The Volunteer Spirit: The Essence of Volunteering Volunteering, at its core, is an act of unselfishness, deeply rooted in the human desire to connect, to share, and uplift. It transcends cultural, economic, and geographic boundaries, embodying the universal truth that every individual can make a difference. Learn About The Angel for Animals! Whether it’s spending a few hours at a local shelter, teaching in underprivileged areas, or engaging in environmental conservation, volunteers worldwide contribute to a collective effort that addresses immediate needs while fostering long-term societal benefits. The ripple effect of volunteering extends far beyond the immediate acts of service. Research and real-world examples highlight several significant impacts. The Volunteer Spirit: Community Development. Volunteers often spearhead projects that directly lead to community improvements, from infrastructure to education. Their involvement can transform neighborhoods, offering hope and practical solutions where governmental or formal structures might fall short. Volunteering plays a critical role in community development in several ways: Social Cohesion: Volunteering brings people together, fostering a sense of community and belonging. When individuals from different backgrounds work towards a common goal, it helps break down social barriers and builds trust among community members. Capacity Building: Volunteers can contribute skills, knowledge, and labor that might otherwise be unaffordable or unavailable to the community. This can range from professional services like legal aid or medical care to manual labor for community projects. Economic Impact: By filling gaps where funding might be insufficient, volunteers can help initiate or sustain projects that stimulate local economies, such as community gardens or small business support programs. Empowerment: Volunteering empowers both the volunteers and the community. Volunteers gain experience, develop new skills, and often feel more connected to their community. For the community, seeing volunteers invest their time can boost morale and encourage local participation in other community activities. Resource Allocation: Often, communities can redirect financial resources to other critical areas because volunteers are covering certain needs for free. This efficient use of resources can lead to more sustainable development. Community Cleanup Initiative: Imagine a neighborhood with litter problems and overgrown lots, detracting from the community’s quality of life and potential health. A group of volunteers organizes a monthly cleanup day. They distribute flyers and coordinate via social media, and on the day, community members (including local businesses, schools, and residents) come together with bags, gloves, and tools. Impact: The physical environment improves, which can reduce pest populations, decrease potential health hazards, and beautify the area. Residents meet each other, perhaps for the first time, fostering relationships. This might lead to further collaborative efforts, like neighborhood watch programs or community events. Economic: If the area becomes more appealing, it might attract more business or investment, leading to economic growth. Participants feel a sense of pride and ownership over their community, which can lead to increased civic engagement and further volunteerism. Sustainability: Seeing the positive outcomes, the volunteers might expand their efforts to include educational workshops on waste management, leading to long-term behavioral changes and sustainable practices within the community. This example illustrates how volunteering not only addresses immediate needs but also plants seeds for continuous improvement and community empowerment. Over time, such efforts can significantly transform a community, making it more resilient, connected, and vibrant. The Volunteer Spirit: Personal Growth. Engaging in volunteer work offers volunteers personal development opportunities, enhancing skills like leadership, empathy, and problem-solving. This personal growth is not just beneficial for the individual but also for the communities they serve, as they return with new insights and capabilities. The Volunteer Spirit: Social Connections and Health Benefits. Volunteering fosters connections not only between volunteers and the communities they serve but also among volunteers themselves. These networks often lead to further initiatives, creating a cycle of giving that perpetuates positive change. Studies, including umbrella reviews, suggest that volunteering can also lead to improved mental and physical health. The act of helping others releases endorphins, leading to a state of well-being. This health benefit loopbacks into society, as healthier volunteers can continue their contributions over longer periods. The Volunteer Spirit: Challenges and Considerations. Despite its numerous benefits, volunteering isn’t without its challenges. The modern world, with its fast pace and mobility, has sometimes diluted the traditional volunteer spirit. As noted in analyses of volunteer trends, there’s a decline in formal volunteering in some regions, attributed to factors like urbanization, changing family structures, and economic pressures. However, this also presents an opportunity for innovation in how volunteering is approached, making it more accessible, flexible, and aligned with contemporary lifestyle changes. The Volunteer Spirit: The Future of Volunteering Looking ahead, the future of volunteering might see “Digital Volunteering.” With technology, volunteering can now transcend physical presence. Online tutoring, digital content creation for educational purposes, or even remote support for NGOs are becoming viable forms of volunteerism. Corporate Volunteering Programs. More companies are recognizing the value of volunteering as a corporate social responsibility, and integrating it into their culture. This not only benefits the community but also enhances employee engagement and satisfaction. The […]

Summer Solstice June 2024 Astrological Meanings! The Summer Solstice: A Celebration of Light and WarmthSummer Solstice June 2024: A Celebration of Light and Warmth: How Cultures Around the World Celebrate the Summer Solstice20 Ways to Celebrate the Summer Solstice June 2024The Summer Solstice 2024 Events Around the WorldMore about Astrology and Horoscopes! Summer Solstice June 2024: Oh, the Summer Solstice! It’s like the VIP of the astronomical party—the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Imagine Mother Nature throwing a barbecue and the sun is the grill master, staying up late to make sure we all get our fill of vitamin D. On June 20, 2024, at 4:51 p.m. EDT, the sun will be at its zenith, basking us in glorious daylight for the longest stretch of the year. So, grab your sunscreen and shades, because this is the peak of solar stardom! Now, does the Summer Solstice affect us? Well, it depends on how you define “affect.” If you mean, “Will it make you want to wear sunglasses indoors and start humming ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by The Beatles?” then yes, absolutely. But in more practical terms, the solstice can influence our mood, sleep patterns, and even our health. The increased daylight can boost serotonin levels, making us feel happier and more energized. But, it can also mess with our sleep schedules, especially if you’re a night owl who prefers the dark side of the moon. So, while the Summer Solstice might not turn you into a sun-worshipping maniac (unless you’re already one, in which case, carry on!), it can have subtle effects on your body and mind. Just remember to enjoy the sunshine responsibly and don’t forget your SPF 50! Summer Solstice June 2024 Astrological Meanings! Summer Solstice June 2024: The Sun’s Grand Entrance: On June 20, 2024, the Sun will be at its peak in the Northern Hemisphere, shining its glorious rays upon us. This means it’s time to soak up all that Vitamin D and let your inner glow shine as brightly as the Sun itself! Summer Solstice June 2024: Cancer Season Begins: As the Sun enters the sign of Cancer, we’ll all be feeling a little more nurturing, emotional, and maybe even a bit crabby (in a good way!). It’s the perfect time to indulge in some self-care, surround yourself with loved ones, and enjoy some delicious seafood (because, you know, crabs!). Summer Solstice June 2024: Longest Day of the Year: The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, which means more daylight for outdoor adventures, picnics, and maybe even a spontaneous dance party under the stars! Who needs sleep when you have the Sun as your personal DJ? Summer Solstice June 2024: New Beginnings: Just like the Sun, we’ll all be feeling a sense of renewal and rebirth. It’s a great time to set new intentions, start fresh projects, and let go of anything that’s been holding you back. Remember, every day is a new beginning, and the Summer Solstice is the perfect time to embrace it! Summer Solstice June 2024: Fun in the Sun: With the Sun shining its brightest, it’s time to have some fun in the sun! Whether it’s a beach day, a hike, or just lounging in your backyard with a good book, make sure to enjoy the warmth and energy of the season. So, there you have it! The astrological meanings of the Summer Solstice in June 2024 are all about embracing the light, nurturing yourself and others, and having a blast while doing it. Now, go forth and enjoy the cosmic vibes! The Summer Solstice: A Celebration of Light and Warmth As the summer solstice approaches on June 20th, 2024, at 4:51 PM EDT, we find ourselves at the peak of the sun’s journey across the sky. This celestial event marks the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, where the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, bathing us in its warm embrace. 1. Summer Solstice June 2024: The Science Behind the Solstice The summer solstice occurs when the Earth’s axis tilts towards the sun, allowing the Northern Hemisphere to receive the most direct sunlight. This tilt is responsible for the changing seasons and the varying lengths of daylight we experience throughout the year. 2. Summer Solstice June 2024: A Day of Celebration Throughout history, the summer solstice has been celebrated by various cultures around the world. In ancient Egypt, the solstice marked the beginning of the Nile’s annual flooding, which was essential for agriculture. In Sweden, people celebrate with bonfires, dancing, and traditional foods. In the United States, many communities gather for music festivals, parades, and outdoor activities to welcome the arrival of summer. 3. Summer Solstice June 2024: Stonehenge and the Solstice Stonehenge, the iconic prehistoric monument in England, is aligned with the sunrise on the summer solstice. Thousands of people gather at Stonehenge each year to witness this spectacular event, as the sun rises over the Heel Stone and casts a shadow that aligns with the center of the monument. 4. Summer Solstice June 2024: The Midnight Sun In regions north of the Arctic Circle, the summer solstice brings the phenomenon known as the “midnight sun.” During this time, the sun remains above the horizon for 24 hours, providing continuous daylight. This unique experience is a popular attraction for travelers seeking to witness the beauty of the Arctic. 5. Summer Solstice June 2024: The Longest Day, But Not the Hottest Contrary to popular belief, the summer solstice does not necessarily mark the hottest day of the year. The Earth’s oceans and land masses take time to absorb and release heat, which means that the hottest temperatures often occur later in the summer, around July or August. 6. Summer Solstice June 2024: The Tropic of Cancer The summer solstice occurs when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky at the Tropic of Cancer, which is located at 23.5 degrees north latitude. The Thought Guardian’s primary responsibility was to protect the mind from negative thoughts that could cause harm and hinder the person’s growth. One day, a small, dark thought appeared in the corner of the mind. It whispered, “You’re not good enough.” The Thought Guardian, who had been watching from a distance, recognized it as a negative thought and knew that it had to be stopped before it grew stronger. The Thought Guardian approached the negative thought and said, “You don’t belong here. • Secret Serendipity, Synchronicity, and Coincidences!
    Synchronicity

In the tapestry of existence, where the threads of reality intertwine, a fascinating phenomenon known as meaningful coincidences, or synchronicity, weaves its way through the fabric of our lives. These seemingly random occurrences, when observed closely, reveal an intricate web of connections between all things. Synchronicity, a term coined by the renowned Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, refers to the simultaneous occurrence of events that appear meaningfully related but have no discernible causal connection. It is as if the universe is whispering to us, offering subtle clues that hint at a deeper, more profound understanding of the world and our place within it. Secret Serendipity and Synchronicity The phenomenon you’re referring to is known as synchronicity, a term coined by the Swiss psychologist Carl Jung. Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events that are causally unrelated, yet are meaningfully related and occur in a seemingly meaningful manner. This concept suggests that there is an underlying pattern or connection between events that goes beyond our conventional understanding of cause and effect. One example of synchronicity can be seen in the story of two friends, Alice and Bob, who live in different cities. Alice is an aspiring artist and has been working on a painting of a beautiful sunset for several weeks. One day, she finally completes the painting and decides to share it with her friend Bob. She sends him a picture of the painting via text message. At the same time, Bob is on a hike, admiring a breathtaking sunset. As he takes in the beauty of the moment, he receives Alice’s text message with her painting. The painting perfectly captures the colors and emotions of the sunset he is witnessing. Bob is astonished by the coincidence and feels a deep sense of connection with Alice, despite the physical distance between them. In this example, the simultaneous occurrence of Alice finishing her painting of a sunset and Bob witnessing a real sunset is a synchronistic event. There is no causal relationship between the two events, yet they seem meaningfully related and connected. This experience can be interpreted as a sign of the interconnectedness of life and the universe, suggesting that there is an underlying pattern or order that we may not fully understand. Secret Serendipity and Interconnectedness Synchronicity can also manifest in more mundane ways, such as thinking of a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while and then receiving a call from them moments later. These experiences can be seen as reminders of the interconnectedness of all things and the mysterious nature of the universe. All About the Angel for Animals! Synchronicity can also be seen as a bridge between the rational and the irrational, the conscious and the unconscious. It can serve as a reminder that there is more to life than what can be explained by logic and reason alone. By paying attention to these synchronistic events, we can learn to trust our intuition and be more open to the mysteries of the universe. Secret Serendipity and Coincidences Not all coincidences can be considered synchronistic events. A coincidence is simply an accidental, unexpected occurrence of two or more events at the same time, while a synchronistic event is a meaningful coincidence that holds a deeper significance or connection for the person experiencing it. For example, let’s say you randomly meet an old friend from high school at a grocery store. This is a coincidence. However, if you had been thinking about this friend a lot recently and wondering how they were doing, and then you run into them, this could be considered a synchronistic event. In this case, the coincidence has a deeper meaning or connection for you. It is important to note that not all coincidences are necessarily synchronistic events. To be considered a synchronicity, the events must have a personal and meaningful significance to the individual experiencing them. The interpretation of these events is subjective and depends on the individual’s beliefs and experiences. Free Monthly Horoscopes! Imagine you’re walking down the street and you see a billboard with a message that feels like it speaks directly to you and your current situation. You think it’s just a coincidence, but then you start seeing the same message everywhere – on social media, in a book you’re reading, and even in a conversation with a stranger. These repeated occurrences of the same message could be considered a synchronistic event, as it holds a deeper meaning for you and may be a sign or guidance related to your current situation. While coincidences are simply accidental occurrences, synchronistic events are meaningful coincidences that hold a deeper significance or connection for the person experiencing them. They often feel like the universe is trying to communicate something to them or guide them in some way.
