In Native American cultures, which tracked the calendar by the Moons, December’s Full Moon is known as the Full Cold Moon. December is the month when winter truly begins in most of the Northern Hemisphere. Most of the ancient Full Moon names are related to the low temperatures and darkness of December. It is fittingly associated with the month when the winter cold fastens its grip and the nights become long and dark. This Full Moon is a reminder that our possibilities are endless, and that there are always opportunities waiting for us on the other side of the horizon. Always Remember: You hold the key to your success!
This Full Moon Brings Peace and Energy!

Astronomers regard the Moon as Full at a precisely defined instant — when the Moon is exactly 180 degrees opposite the Sun. While you have this Full Moon power behind you, send healing energy, forgiveness, pink light and loving-kindness to friends, family, colleagues, and strangers. In addition, send peaceful energy to the places in the world experiencing strife, hardship, poverty and war.
It is a Time for Rest!

The Long Night Moon gets its name because the Full Moon in December occurs near the Solstice, which has the longest night of the year. This is a time of rest. As the night is long and the days are short it becomes a time of self healing and rejuvenation. As mother Earth has tucked herself in, so should you. It is perfectly fine to allow yourself the time to heal and relax that is necessary for good health. Now is the perfect time for spiritual awareness — time to evaluate your life, and know that you’ll survive the dark times. It is the time to get rid of that excess baggage you’ve been toting around.

This is also the time of year for wrapping up loose ends, finishing up a project, and turning inwards. Clear communication must be highlighted here in dealing with others. Examine the ways in which you communicate to others and make some positive changes. Put out your best effort and true self into the world, and the Universe will send you experiences and people to match your energy.
A Winter Full Moon is a Perfect Time for Hot Apple Cider!

Looking for the perfect accompaniment for enjoying a full winter moon? Well, nothing beats a mug of hot apple cider on a cold winter’s day. In these more brisk months, there’s nothing better than wrapping your hands around a hot mug of apple cider. Just the fragrance is enough to lull anyone in from the cold and calm the senses for a while. Apple cider is perfect for gatherings with friends, family dinners, Christmas parties… pretty much anywhere where a large group of people plan on getting together. If you’re the one hosting the party, it makes your house smell like an old school cider house — better than any holiday candle can.
Instructions for Making the Best Hot Apple Cider!

What we do: Grab an orange. Stick some cloves in it. Throw it in your Crock Pot along with a few cinnamon sticks and a gallon of apple cider. Turn it on. Wait four hours. Serve. *Option 1 – Thinly slice or chop up some McIntosh apples including the peel, into small pieces and drop a small bunch of the apple pieces into each cup of hot cider just before serving. This makes a wonderful addition to this recipe. *Option 2 – Add one and one-half cups of bourbon, whiskey or rum when ready to serve. (Adding it too soon will burn out the alcohol.) Also briskly whisk in a pat of butter right before serving. It gives the cider a rich, frothy top and smooths out the flavors. Makes about sixteen 8 oz. Drinks.

Make sure you stay alert to what is happening around you.
The Year of the Rat brings behavior issues. This is the year when people are active at night. They look for good times and drink when it’s dark. The alcoholic Rat person tends to find trouble in love affairs. It’s not a good year for serious relationships, so keep it light. There is no place for negativity in life. Choose your friends wisely, and make sure to associate yourself with positive people.
It is a year for New Beginnings! You are likely to act more spontaneous this year, which will add some excitement to your love life, whether you begin the year in a relationship or single. When you are trying to get with someone new, make sure that you show them your true self from the beginning. This can help to prevent a lot of problems as your relationship goes on.
The Rat is good at earning money but doesn’t know how to keep it. A Rat works for money and knows how to accumulate the wealth. The Year of the Rat brings desires for a better material life and many urges to hang out at magnificent places. Be careful that you do not overspend. Money flow will be sufficient, and if you want to keep it, you should focus on cutting down unnecessary expenses. You will be the happiest when you spend your money on others instead of on yourself.
The Year of the Rat can bring out the dark side of your personality. This year, traits of intolerance, selfishness and scheming are magnified. When encountering serious frustrations, the Rat has a tendency to leave where they are, even relocate to a different town. You can get a validation from an old saying among the boatmen – Rats leave a sinking ship, which means the rat may be aware that the ship will be wrecked and runs away in advance. If you are someone who runs away from problems, challenge yourself to stay. Leaving is comfortable, staying is the challenge.
With issues of Health, the Year of the Rat is a year to be more careful with what you eat and at what hours. Be especially careful during the first half of the year as your health is more sensitive and you can be prone to small illnesses. Also, be careful about injuries, especially when you are in a hurry and need to get somewhere quickly. It is important to adopt a healthy diet and balanced lifestyle with an exercise regime in place.
All throughout 2020, good luck is on your side, but you need to seize it as soon as it knocks on your door. The Chinese say that nothing scares the luck more than when you doubt it. In turn, those who show enthusiasm and act quickly will be able to ensure their success. Red is one of the luckiest colors in Chinese culture, standing for prosperity, loyalty, success, and happiness. Red can drive away bad luck and evil spirits.
Rats love gemstone beads that are as energized as they are. The lucky stones for the Year of the Rat are the diamond, amethyst, and emerald. Diamonds are for luck and health, the amethyst for activating endurance, and the emerald for protecting against unpleasant events. The gemstone that is most popular for the year of the Rat is the Garnet. It is known as the Blood Stone due to its deep red color. It is thought to ward off sorrow and depression. It is believed that it enhances mental health and saves your house from theft, as per Chinese lore.
The Rat is the first in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese Zodiac. It has characteristics of an animal with spirit, wit, alertness, delicacy, flexibility and vitality. In Chinese culture, rats were seen as a sign of wealth and surplus. Because of their reproduction rate, married couples also prayed to them for children.
Rat is Yin Water, the last element of the Yin-Yang Five Elements. It is connected to knowledge, memory, and learning. Water Rats show great wisdom in balancing power and strategy. They are rather conservative in their actions as they prefer to swim with the tide rather than against it. This tends to bring good luck into their lives.
It’s not all smooth-sailing for Rats in 2020. However, any setbacks you experience will be buffered by new opportunities – if you remain open to them. That being said, you’d do well to avoid any speculative investment, for this is not the year for taking risks. You can expect to be prosperous and happy in the coming months, if you can avoid the bad luck trying to influence you. Use the Moon cycles to manifest. Each month you have a New Moon, which is the time to start visualizing what you want and go after it. Even as your earnings increase, try to live off a set income level and add to your investments. Don’t deny yourself, but avoid spending for an outward show or status symbol. Allowing your interest-earning accounts to grow will help you offset any downturns or emergency expenses.
